Image below is what I want. 0-100 setup with 6 stint Practice. It's what I want but I didnt say I was good at it as you can see by image lol

Decide on the right number of testing laps in every stint. More laps gives you better feedback, but raises the component wear and chances of a crash. Crashing out in practice results in car repair time and the lose of a practice stint.
Take care of your tyres too and save enough sets for qualification and race.
Even if you use the same car setup on the same track, you won’t obtain the same setup or performance.
This keeps managers on there toes and keeps the game fun and challenging.

First thought was holy cow, that's a lot of things to setup. Second thought was holy cow, that's a lot of things to setup and then I started to realize is mostly splitting up the things that we already have. :D

Don't know about the more practice equals more chance of crash as starting a setup fresh would pretty much mean you need at least a number of laps since the standard setup is off by a lot usually. Sets of tyres, with 25% race distance for example that wouldn't be a worry at all unless you decrease the available amounts together with the race distance.

Also the harder tyres would need an increase of speed as otherwise you will only see a shift from ss/s to s/m and you're stuck at the same old strategies again. That's just because ss wouldn't be able to do enough laps anymore and just would be rubbish alltogether.

As long as the drivers still indicate what they want, I can see the fun in parts of it. If it's something you would need to figure out yourself, that would be a very steep learning curve for many.

Well this it if your driver has poor feedback rating you might only get setup information on 4-5 parts at a time even with doing a 40 lap stint. But them long setups are easier than they look, the screenshot I took was after the 3rd stint had another 3 stints to fine tune it. ;)

The way that game works where I took the picture from they have no track information screens to help you with set ups it's all down to you where you start off at and the driver will tell you higher or lower. After your first few tracks you see patterns starting to appear in the setups and you can pretty much get great setups every race even they are slightly different from race to race gaps between settings are same just in different places.

what if all tyres had the same level of speed & just had different durability ratings that would allow for a mix of strategies only thing that would be slowing you down slightly would be the extra fuel you are carrying. Sets of tyres for every race would be the same only the life of tyres would be lowered to allow for shorter distances. Sure is that the way it is at the minute? I have never done 25% to know. Just 50/100% races I have done and the life of tyre in 50% is lower than 100%.

Patterns in setups and tracks are a mystery to me, also after 12 years of simracing but i see what you mean. :) Must say I never realy bothered to compare setups between tracks and if there's some sort of pattern in it. Only thing I did figure out so far is how to go from a dry setup to a wet setup without much adjustments needed afterwards so yes, there must be patterns.

Done 25%, 50% and 100% in which 100% has been quite a while ago but I dont see wear differences in 25% and 50% races though. What I do notice is that often tyres work just fine a first stint but will have a harder time the next stints. More or less as getting more grip from the track and creating more heat. So I can imagine that process would continue when races are becoming longer.

But don't think tyre compounds should have the same speed as it's just not very realistic. Do think getting the compounds a bit closer together would be good as the hard tyres are more or less useless as they don't get up to speed. Medium is ok in some cases but I pretty much only use super soft and soft.

Medium tyres are only ok on 2 tracks. SS on Push Level 1 and M on Push Level 3 rest of the time M is on Push Level 2. In short races this might be ok but a slower tyre pushing just slightly more than a faster tyre just isn't right, whats the point of having Push levels 3,4 & 5 when you cant run a tyre on them. Hard tyres are always between push 2 & 3, Push 3 tyres are too hot 2 tyres are too cold they need moved up the push range to give them a fighting chance.

Edit- Just in-case someone wonder what I on about by talking about Push Levels in numbers :P
Push Level 1- Lowest. We must bring the car home, no excuses
Push Level 2 - Low. Be strategic & play it safe
Push Level 3 - Average. Consistency is key – stick to a competitive pace
Push Level 4 - Hard. Be Aggressive & push hard
Push Level 5 - Hardest. Take big risks, we have nothing to lose
