Just want to say you've done a great job on tyres, DRS and the introduction of 3D. Our league was about to fall to pieces with disgruntled managers not enjoying the racing at all. Now that we've implemented no refuelling and the two tyre rule everything has improved no end. However, what has really put the cherry ? on the cake is that we've brought in our own rule, the current top three in the championship must start on hard tyres. Boy has this livened things up! With the full tanks of fuel, two tyre rule and the tyre cliffs it has really raised the fun level to the max. Even the guys who used to walk away with races are more vocal and engaged on race nights. Maybe this hard tyre rule could be installed as another option for the league managers so that we don't have to self police it?

Rejected within minutes! Would be nice to know why. Oh well.

Probably because is not a fair rule. You're artificially equalizing the leaderboard. Scores will get closer but at the end is very likely the same managers will be on top.
I raced with similar rules and only made most of the season a waste of time as you wont be able to build a gap. You can save design points and just concentrate on the last races with a superior car.

I think have hit the nail on the head with your answer.

Also might have been shot down due to strategy, would cause people to sandbag on purpose and not qualify top three, and it sort of devalues the top 3 positions

We did something similar in my league, top 3 had to use two compounds and the rest was a free choice. I found it did actually spice things up and it was a great morale booster for the managers who rarely got a win or a top scoring position. If you want the top 3 on hards just discuss it with your league and do it as an unofficial rule, you'll find it quite fun.

We did points finishers had to use a randomly rolled tyre in the next race. Didn't have to start on it and sometimes the roll would be the preferred alternate tyre so it wasn't always a massive penalty but sometimes it was. We kept soft as the Prime tyre and rolled for the option tyre. Was rally fun and helped the lower midfield be around the points sometimes and sometimes early season get some crazy races with people winning that never would have otherwise.

We stopped in the end because of the admin burden but a league rule would have been nice enough to maybe do it still.

We've started the new Hard Tyre Rule, top three in the championship must start on hards, and after six races it has been a huge success. Although the top racers are still involved at the top it is much more competitive with more drivers involved in the racing. I think we've have about 13 managers in the points already and that's a massive improvement on before.
