In most racing games there's the option to choose a custom strategy - completely flexible with when you want to pit. This isn't in iGP, however, but I think instead of the preset strategies the strategy should be left up to the player (what lap you want to pit and how many stops you want to do). This could be a league option but I'm OK if this gets struck down - I just think it would be cool to have.

It already exists.

It already exists.

Where does it exist? bc I think my idea is different than what you are referring to

What I'm suggesting is choosing the length of your stints and how many stops you want - is that clear? Similar to what the Codemasters F1 games do.

In no refuelling races, if you attend you get to choose the strategy as the race progresses.

If the race is (for example) 40 laps, then in the main strategy tab set the first stint to the tyre compound you want to use for qualifying and specify the stint length to be 40+ laps (greater than or equal to the race length).

In the live race you will be able to pit the car whenever you want and select from all available compounds.

Edit:
In refuelling races for the first stint you can only pit earlier than your defined first stint length, but subsequent stints can be adjusted during the race.

Fuelling for a potentially super long first stint gives flexibility fot stint 1 but at the expense of running a much heavier and slower car than your opponents.

I'm referring to if you want to set up a fixed strategy before the race but I probably should have done better research. Thanks Kevin for clarifying

You have a L17 account with 138 races completed. Has someone given you this account because I find it hard to believe you have been playing the game for 5 months without discovering you can pre-set the strategy here...

What I was suggesting was something that F1 Manager 2022 has which is create a strategy before the cutoff choosing your custom stint length and and have that strategy be fixed for the race.

I know about the strategy selection screen and I made the account on my own, it was not gifted to me, but what I was suggesting was the above (custom stint length rather than the presets)

Is that clear enough?

No, to be honest, it's not clear, possibly because I have no knowledge or experience of F1 Manager.

The iGP strategy is customisable, you can specify stint length and tyre compound to whatever you want and it is fixed for the race. The only limitation is that you can only specify 5 stints, after this the 6th and subsequent stints are just a copy of stint 5.

What you can't do (if this is what you mean) is save this pre-set strategy so that you can quickly load it for future races at the same circuit.

Here's what I mean.

Instead of the presets (i.e. four 14-lap stints) you can change the length of a stint without changing how many pitstops you do. (i.e. instead of four 14 lap stints, you can do a 13 lap stint then a 15 lap stint.) What I was suggesting is changing stint length without changing how many stops you do. It doesn't carry over for future races at that track.

Is that clearer?

I mean before the race you can adjust it

Steven are you asking to maintain what has been set on each stint when you edit the number of pit stops? It can be annoying when you realize that you need one more or less stop, I know.

If not, I (like others) don't understand what you mean...

No, what I'm asking for is the ability to change your stint length without changing the number of pit stops you do (instead of 4 14 lap stints you can do a 13 lap and a 15 lap stint) before the race. Do you understand that?

It's okay if you don't

Steven have you ever edited the length of your stints by clicking on the tyre icon and editing fuel quantity?

I looked the individual reports of your drivers in your current season. You never did a stint with a length different from the default one.

Your cars always share the same strategy which means the second car will lose 5 seconds. Did you do this on purpose?

No I haven't but what I'm suggesting is completely different - unless you don't see the idea I have

If you want I will try conflicting strats, thanks for the tips mate

Also I apologize for not looking into this, next time I make a suggestion I will look into it. I would like to request that this thread is closed.
