Very nice idea, but there if the conditions are tricky like slick-inters, some managers may do an overuse of slicks(especially newcomers). And they would miss the final races. Cool idea tho with some settings and regulations it would be great
I have often thought of the same idea, again it should be optional. It's basically what happens in real F1 where teams have to say in advance how many sets of each compound they need in advance of races. It will make tyre choice during races more critical and again increase strategies, funny it's rejected as surely that's down to management which I thought the game was about. It's easy just to use 1 compound for the whole race, no skill in that at all.
Same could be done with limiting engines too, so again you choose which engine to use at certain tracks, do you use a new PU or an older one etc, again adding to the management of the game.
I think limiting the number of tyres is a good idea, but if implemented the discretion to choose the numbers should rest with the league admin.
Mainly because in some leagues some set of tyres are practically useless.
For instance, in my league the European races happen when its between late night and early morning in Europe. The temperatures are pretty low and its hard to get heat into the tyres to have them operate optimally.
This renders the Hards and in some cases the Mediums (when the temps are around 4 deg). The only use cases we have for hards are the middle east races.
I disagree - all this would do is convolute strategy as people would have to go onto different tires than what they wanted and mess up their strategies
