I read the guides and they suggested going a lap more than my competition before pitting, but my strategy has been to go with SS tires and little fuel at the front, use lots of boost for the first, maybe 5 or so laps then in those laps get the fastest lap times while getting a 17+ second lead that allows me to do the rest of the race without being overtaken. Is this ok?

Is this ok?

Looking at your league championship table the simple answer to your question is... Yes.

But it really isn't quite as simple as this because the optimum strategy and best race tactics depend on many factors. Refuelling on/off, race length, tyre rules, circuit characteristics and even what strategies and race tactics your competitors adopt can all influence what might be best for you.

You will most likely need to adapt your strategies as your iGP career progresses and you promote to higher tiers, but in the meantime enjoy your racing and the success these tactics are bringing.
