I should have given more detail. Sorry, and thanks.
There are times, especially in leagues where fuel is specified for each stint, when the ideal (as calculated from practice) might be between the whole numbers. If managers are using practice data when deciding race tactics, more precise fuel loads can make a difference. And, of course, it could also mean running out of fuel if we get too clever.
