Is this something that could be used in iGP Manager? It'd be interesting, to say the least.There's numerous ways it could be used in strategies. It could also be a compound that unlocks in the Elite tier for when managers are more experienced. Or it could be a compound that has to be bought at a ridiculous price and only available in the Elite tier.
Extremely quick degradation and extremely grippy.
What are everybody's thoughts?
I think in strategies it'd be interesting to use as a qualifying compound to jump up the grid, but this would only work if most other managers stayed on the more ideal compounds, or if it were indeed extremely expensive to purchase.
Maybe this isn't realistic of an idea at all, since Pirelli is the only supplier for F1.

Stick to your guns, they might add Pirelli to the game and it might open the door to a change in the tyre allocations.

Seen it but it doesn't really tell you how ultra softs comes into play there is not too many tracks that use super softs so I think Monaco, Russia & Singapore will be the only tracks they will be used.
Abu Dhabi is a maybe but it would be too much of a risk cause supers only last 5-6 laps there.
If durability 1 = 4-5 laps then our life span of tyres is spot on for supers, soft and meds but Hards are off track they should be a minimum of 20-25laps depending on weather temp :)

If it's implemented like Pirelli says it does, it will be used only at street courses.

If after the first race the cars that finished outside the top 10 could use ultra soft in qualifying only and didn't have to use them in the race it would really spice things up in the next race.

I think if there was no refuelling in the game then tyre compounds used by players would be more varied.
At the moment almost no-one uses hard tyres because although they go further the fuel weight penalty added to the less grip makes them much slower.
If cars started with enough fuel for the whole race then I think it would open up a variety of viable alternatives for strategy..
To base ultrasofts around an expensive price needs the financial aspect of the game to 'work' and let's be honest it doesn't. Once you've reached a certain level the credits roll in with nothing to spend them on.
Although I get that if ultras were ultra expensive then it would give us a credit sink, it would take quite a while to burn through the reserves that many players have built up.

That's why I said before to make all tyres equal and just have them do different distances the extra fuel alone is enough of a penalty & it shouldn't destroy the realism too much.

Banning re-fuelling will not affect race strategies.
