Promoting staff from the Offices & Hospitality suite seems to be more costly than hiring one on the open market, let me know if I'm going wrong about this or my math is bad.

Here's a TD, 5 stars, perfect for me, in my Offices & Hospitality facility. I would need to spend $220k and 54 tokens to sign him to my team.

Here's my TD I just purchased off of the open market, also 5 stars, but is level 21. The signing fee was around $250k and only cost me 1 token in the bidding process.

I'm currently level 21, with 6745 experience needed for level 22.

I'll get 178xp per race since no one in my league is higher than level 21 currently. Add to that the 30xp I get from watching 3 ads for 10xp each in the mobile app, that's 208xp per race (avoiding the use of days, to eliminate the off-season day variable).

Excluding daily rewards for experience, it will take me 33 races to get to level 22 before I need to worry about getting a new 5-star TD.

So, how much will my current TD have earned after those 33 races versus promoting the level 22 5-star TD from my Offices & Hospitality suite?

My current TD will be paid $16.72m for 19 races out of his current 20-race contract, at which point I renew before it expires. For the next 14 races thereafter, he will cost $968k per race, or $13.552m, plus the $250k signing fee. This is a grand total of $30.272m.

Promoting the level 22 5-star TD will cost $220k for the signing fee and 54 tokens.
The wage for this TD can be estimated to be as high as $350k. For 19 races out of his 20-race contract, he will cost $6.65m, at which point I renew before it expires. For the next 14 races thereafter, he will cost $385k per race, or $5.39m. This is a grand total of $12.04m.

Pretty cheap, until I start weighing the cost of tokens used promoting the level 22 5-star TD.

Excluding daily deals, the best rate for converting tokens to cash is $25.7m for 15 tokens.

If I spend 15 tokens for cash investment 3 times, that comes out to $77.1m.
If I skip promoting the level 22 5-star TD and opt for the Transfers market where I got my current TD from, I come out ahead;

The single token spent on buying my current TD is miniscule compared to the savings — I invest $77.1m into my team and spend $30.272m over 33 races to pay him. A net profit of $46.828m. Then, once I'm level 22, I can get myself another 5-star TD the same way. And perhaps other staff too!

I can save myself some tokens and spend 15 tokens on cash investment only 2 times and I still profit at $21.128m.
Plus other ways I can save a bit more tokens purchasing a smaller investment option after the first $25.7m cash investment.

So why should I bother with the Offices & Hospitality suite in this instance?

You're right. Hiring staff from HQ is a smart move only when you have the maximum level possible.

You will have very little chance of finding a 5 stars staff from marketplace but 4,5 stars ones performs like 5 stars so...

During the last year I found only 2 5 stars staff: one is my current TD.

The conclusion is correct, but some numbers seem to be off.
Your XP from races should be 178xp, so even less races. However the TD from offices is level 22 (for some reason it can create staff one level higher than team but still 5 yellow stars), so should be good for another level. Also all staff I got from HQ was 200k starting wage.
Still, all in all taking full token cost into account staff from transfers are still cheaper at those time frames, roughly 35 million I reckon.

Ah, you're right. Revised my calculations for 178xp and the costs in wages. Didn't revise the costs in wages for the TD from the Offices & Hospitality suite though, I'm going to see if Jack would be willing to confirm to me what they start at when promoted since I don't have any test accounts anymore.

As you may be able to tell, I'm pretty rusty.
