Hi, I was wondering if it's the case to change/improve the weather system: since the new weather update, I've pleasantly
noticed that now weather changes way more frequently during a race, but in my opinion it has become almost unpredictable using Openweather. I know that it is a random factor and it's therefore part of the game, but I think that we should have at least a weather provider that allows us to check a sort of a precipitation radar.
I find it absurd that with Darksky API we had almost no weather changes and we had a precipitation radar available, while now that the weather changes more frequently (which is a thing I appreciate a lot) we have no radar, not even for the next 60 minutes (even if we have a super useless radar that tells us the precipitation during the last 24 hours, not to mention that the map available for Openweather is absolutely approximative).
What do you think?
Have you found a better way to (at least try) to predict weather changes?
Let me know

I've simple went on https://openweathermap.org and if you type the city of the Grand Prix, you'll see the weather + radar?

Yeah, I know, but it allows you to see only the last 24 hours radar. I was referring to the next hours, for which there is no radar available (or at least I can't figure out how to find it)

The app doesn’t have a precipitation radar, but the website does.  So far I haven’t experienced any material difference on any of my accounts.

Do you know if there's a way to see a radar for the next few hours?

It looks to me like it shows live radar, but doesn’t seem to have any obvious way of looking forward in time

Edit: when you open website, click on maps, then on right hand side choose Global Precipitation, put city into search, and then on right hand side again you can see current rain radar, but it only seems to go back in time.  Looks like you need a business account for forward forecasts so yes weather provider is not great for game

On the iOS app (free) I seem to be able to see forecasts for the next week.

I’ve been looking at the specific circuits in the app rather than the cities. Not sure if that’s the right  way to go or not.

So in the app I find the location, and then you get a bar for the days weather by hour, and then below a summary for the next 7 days. Tapping on the summary will display a precipitation/temperature chart by hour for that day.

I had a race a few days ago, no rain announced, nothing on radar, nothing 10min before the race, race start with 2mm of rain for 25 turn. That was an absolute chaos.

When the prediction was right about rain, i found that usually the quantity is wrong by quite a few; 0.5mm more at least

not sure if changing the provider is what we need but something is off imo

In the Apple app if you click on the precipitation map you can see rain movements for next 12 hours or toggle it to next hour.  The issue with using the Apple app is that it isn’t aligned to the game weather and it is surprising just how much forecasts differ between providers.

To be clear I mean OpenWeathers iOS app. Not standard Apple weather.

(Not 100% sure if we are talking cross purpose or not)

Ok as you said free Apple app I assumed you meant the built-in one.  Those charts don’t help much for the game though as the further ahead a forecast is the less accurate it is.  The OP was asking about a precipitation radar which is more short term and much more useful since it shows you exactly where rain is likely to fall.  If the Openweather app had free access to this it would be  exactly what managers need, but unfortunately it appears to be a pay for option for business users.

Ahh. Yes I’ve just examined what I am getting out of the app in a bit more detail. Looks like it only gives 3 hour intervals into the future for free, and only for a specific location not on a map like used to be possible from darksky.

I hadn’t clicked that it was 3 hour intervals before, thought 1 hour intervals might be useful.
