Why not? Cars will slow down and will get closer to each other.
The safety car option could be turned on or off in the championship settings.

We had safety car a while back I didn’t really have affect on results so don’t see why to bring them back .

Pitting in safety car should create an advantage

I don't know how it worked, but before the cars all line up, they has to slow down for 1 or 2 laps

IIRC, in the short period the Flags/SC update was live the SC never actually got deployed, all we ever saw was yellow flags when one of the inactives had a suspension failure.

The real problem with SC (over and above the high risk of introducing all manner of bugs) is, what would be the criteria for deploying a safety car? We don't have crashes, the only DNFs we get are either running out of fuel or non repaired cars suffering suspension failure. If you're going to use one of these to trigger a SC you are opening the door to exploits.

I've seen another game that deploys safety cars because of "debris on track" due to (fake) collisions between cars. I'm not totally against it, if it happen 5% of races I think It won't ruin the game. It would be another strategic element.

Then we get into the random event debate which totally divides the community.

But for me the biggest risk is bugs. When something as seemingly simple as... "Is the race wet or dry?" gets rolled out with questionable logic, I shudder to think what would happen if a safety car appeared on the track.

Any update in any game has the risk of bugs (even the fixes). Maybe it happens a little more often here.

I enjoyed in that game that I had to react like when it suddenly and unexpectedly rains.

Sadly there were other aspects in that game that made it a pay to win game. I had to stop at some point because I had to lose because I was not using my wallet.

Regarding safety cars, I'm neutral. I wouldn't like to see my cars retire but if we have a safety car (because of debris) there is another variable to master.

P.S. I have never seen the previous attempt but I think it was wrong the trigger (an inactive player whose cars were too damaged to finish). The main reason of that failure was the trigger.

I think safety car could be a fun and cool upgrade if it happens once or twice in the whole league. Like 1 or 2 races on 30 races.

Ok, what about VSC?

I’m with Kevin as the VSC was an unmitigated disaster and happened virtually every race.

If the new trigger was debris it would need crashes or collisions to occur.  Personally I feel these have no place in this game and would be more suitable in an arcade style racing game.

However, the problem is many will agree with me (especially those who have played a long time) and many will disagree since this idea always polarises the community.

Safety car without any specific trigger, just random (one SC on 30 races). (There are too many triggers)

Go into search and search up "safety car" and I'm sure you might see why ppl don't want this feature

Could be nice, but not if it means random mistakes from the drivers

I couldn’t have said it any better, fully agree
