I know a few people moaned that they struggled with Inters and Wets having low tyre wear allowing wet races to be completed with 1 or 0 stop strategies.  This was something I had no issue with as it meant wet races were different needing a different strategy and you could take the risk that If the track remained wet you could gain an advantage by running much longer stints with less stops.  However, the recent changes seem a ill-though out knee jerk reaction.

Tonight I’m racing Belgium and the tyre wear rates are as follows:

Super Soft 13%
Soft 8%
Meds 6%
Inters 10%
Wets 10%

To have Inters and Wets with wear rates so much higher than meds & softs is not only unrealistic, it is nonsensical and completely changes the dynamics of a wet race bringing them closer to dry races.  This is not the only track I’ve seen the wear rates between dry and wets inversed and needs to be reversed.  I struggle to understand why you thought this was an improvement to the game. Although, I personally didn’t agree that wets needed a higher wear rate a small change would have been fine, but this seems to been done without thinking through the consequences?

The wear varies greatly depending on the water level on the track. The more water there is and less wear you will get.

I Personally like it more with the dynamic wear. More impact on the choices you have to make,
but I also think full wet races are rare now. With the new weather provider the water level stays low in most of the wet races. At least that's what I experienced.

Hi Dick

I assume you ran the practice laps to gain the wear at 0.0mm

As Astro says the wear of the wet weather tyres is dynamic and tied to the water levels, this isn't a new feature but perhaps it has become more noticeable recently since the introduction of the new category of rain that inter tyres do not have much life at low water levels.

Dynamic wear dependent on water level is good.
