I hired 35 designers, to speed up my car development. Unfortunately, I discovered that I might as well have worked with 10, because the amount of designers you put on a part doesn't seem to affect the speed with which they are developed. A part which has 15 designers on it developed as fast as one with just 1 on it. That doesn't seem realistic at all :-(.

A few people in my league also wondered what driver weight had to do with the speed of the car, as there is no balance option in the setup screen (as far as I know at the moment). But that was just a little question.

Forgot this: Does designer skill affect the development speed? Is it in some way multiplied with the amount of designers you hired?

I can assure you the amount of designers does change how fast the upgrades happen, but perhaps your designs are already at the soonest possible date.

There is a limitation on how fast you are allowed to develop parts. There must be a two-day gap between updating the same component twice. If you want daily updates you will need to assign them to one set of components, then another. Initially you might be able to update all components at once, meaning there is a two day gap on all of them, but as you get to higher levels you will need to assign tens of designers to each component to get the upgrades quickly, which will split them up and allow daily upgrades of less components.

Designer skill increases how much performance you gain with an upgrade, but it doesn't increase the speed of upgrades.
