Hi everyone,
If you are an old subscriber, you have probably
read my blog on subscriptions under the new iGP Manager
Subscriptions that were active or partially complete during the migration have been processed now. Each time a legacy subscription renews you will receive 3x its value in Tokens. E.g. a £2.99 monthly subscription renewal will deposit £9.97 worth of Tokens in your account. An annual £19.99 subscription will deposit £59.97 worth of Tokens in your account.
Note: We were unable to track and process about a dozen subscriptions that renewed from 26th August to 30th August. If you had a subscription renew in this period, please post here and I will manually award the Tokens.
If you would like to cancel an existing subscription, here is a guide to cancel any recurring payment profiles in PayPal:
https://www.paypal.com/selfhelp/article/FAQ2145/2 (If the PayPal link does not work for any reason, try typing "Cancel recurring payment" in the FAQ search box, and it should turn up a guide). But remember, if you cancel you will not be eligible for the 3x Tokens any more.

That PayPal page is not available, Jack. Also, can you confirm anyone who cancels a subscription loses the money for however many months they have remaining?
Jack Basford medal 6098 CEO & CTO 8 years 87 days ago
The way I will award them, you will get Tokens "up front" for any future period remaining in the subscription, even if it is cancelled. But this is only true if the payment has already been made.
The way we are tracking them is after a payment is made, the problem I have encountered is that since we migrated it has stopped tracking subscription payments properly, and this is why I am now working with the third-party payment system provider to resolve that.
The payments are tracked inside PayPal, Stripe, just not in the "middle man" payment processor connected to our system. I hope once we can "reconnect" the subscriptions it will backdate and track all of them from the week. Otherwise, it will be a very long and boring manual job!

I think my monthly payment is due on 30th August. would be less hassle if I cancelled it?
Jack Basford medal 6098 CEO & CTO 8 years 87 days ago
Only one less to do by hand, if it ends up that way, so not really.
Regarding the PayPal FAQ I wish they would stop changing their links! Best to search the FAQ for "Cancel recurring payment" or similar. Here's the link I just got now, and I've updated the OP too:

26th seem it just doesnt show on my bank statement until the 30th
Jack Basford medal 6098 CEO & CTO 8 years 85 days ago
I have been going back and forth with the developers of the third-party payment processor today and I think we will be okay. The technical challenges should be straightforward from what they say.
Thanks again for your patience if you are a legacy subscriber, it should only be a couple more days before your subscriptions are paid out in the new iGP.

How are you doing with this, Jack? I'm not in any rush, it's more important to get the game sorted, but someone told me during the race last night that they'd spent a chunk of their 600 legacy tokens on upgrades before the race. That seemed a crazy amount, so I guess I'm just checking I was being wound up, rather than that I'm missing out on huge amount of tokens.
Jack Basford medal 6098 CEO & CTO 8 years 81 days ago
He was probbaly referring to old Reward Points, rather than a subscription. I still haven't been able to process the subscriptions because we have a gap in the data from the migration up to the 30th or so.
There was a way to address this automatically and quickly in the old PayPal interfaces, but since they updated their GUI, the option is gone. This could have been done best part of a week ago were it not for this hurdle. I'm waiting for PayPal to reply to me on email explaining how to do it now, but as usual their support is slow as hell. "We will get back to you in 24 hours" = 48 hours with no reply, and I'll be surprised if I ever get one. I've emailed them before and never heard back. I might end up just doing each one that was missing in the data by hand, but it will take a whole day at least.

FYI - I hit a new roadblock on this today, but it should be resolved tomorrow. So, I think tomorrow will be the day I finally get to address this. Sorry for the delay.

I've completed the scripts to do this now, and everything is ready to go, but I have run out of time for today. I don't want to run the scripts right before going to bed, in case anything unusual happens.
I will run it in the afternoon tomorrow, to award tokens for all legacy subscribers. If you are a legacy subscriber who has been waiting for this, thanks for being so patient through all the delays.

Okay, these have been processed now.
Note: We were unable to track about a dozen PayPal subscriptions from 26th August to 30th August, due to some lag getting PayPal synchronised during the migration. If you had a subscription renew in this period, please post here or PM me the invoice details and I will manually award the Tokens.

Hi Jack. I appreciate you crediting me tokens for my outstanding legacy subscription but...
My subscription was renewed on 27th July (six weeks ago) which leaves a residual balance of approx. £17.70. This should buy me around 212 tokens based on the rate of 180 tokens for £14.99. So using the three times multiplier I expected to receive in the region of 636 tokens but I only received 250. Which one of us has miscalculated? Thanks Kev.
Jack Basford medal 6098 CEO & CTO 8 years 78 days ago
Hi Kevin, I can see it's an easy misunderstanding, but it's correct.
See the original blog. The payout you received is for a backdated transaction, not a renewal, for those, the blog says "If you have an active subscription when the new iGP Manager launches: You will get its full value in tokens, even if it is very old and about to renew.".
In your case, this means you received £19.99 in Tokens, even with £17.70 worth of subscription remaining. If you had only £0.10 subscription remaining, you would also have received the original subscription value in tokens, or £19.99. This rule was applied to all expiring subscriptions, regardless of how far in they were.
If a subscription is kept active and renews on the new game then the 3x multiplier is applied.

Thanks for explaining Jack, I now understand. Unfortunately it leaves me feeling like everything in the new game is geared against me.
So...
I've put a fair bit of commitment into this game having played for about 20 months and subscribed for around 18. I now find that I'm disadvantaged against others whose subscription is just about to expire. They have been credited exactly the same number of tokens as me but whereas they'll receive another £60 boost in the next few weeks I'll have to wait for another 46 weeks.
Add to that the fact that all of my months of driver training in old iGP has been wiped because of the level cap (but their extortionate salaries reman) and I now have a pair of underperforming overpaid drivers and it's impossible for me not to lose money race after race.
Then we have the level cap in car development and headquarters and the fact that they were also reduced to 70% of my manager level and I'm wondering if I shouldn't be contacting "Rip Off Britain" LOL.
So in a nutshell I'm out of pocket regarding tokens and have little chance to compete on a level playing field against competent managers who are at a higher level than me.
I said I'd give the new game a chance but I'm fast losing my patience.
Jack Basford medal 6098 CEO & CTO 8 years 78 days ago
Well, I can only do so much as one person catering to 40,000 unique cases during the migration. We provided the subscription, we published how everything would be handled months in advance and paid out more than the subscriptions remaining value in Tokens. If that isn't enough, then it isn't enough. I would love to be able to help everyone individually but there is only so much time in the day, and a lot of pressing development tasks. If you would like a full refund I'm happy to help. That is all I can offer at this stage.
Kevin Bissell medal 5000 Super Mod 8 years 78 days ago
No problem Jack, no refund necessary, I just feel that all of the changes have conspired against me and it's bringing out my paranoia. I'm sure I'm not the only person in this position but you really do need to do something to level the gap between high level managers and the rest before people start voting with their feet. But that's another topic, nothing to do with tokens and subscriptions :-)
Jack Basford medal 6098 CEO & CTO 8 years 78 days ago
I'm well aware some people are in less preferable circumstances at the moment, which is why I need to focus on development soon. Thanks for your patience and understanding on the matter. I'll repeat my motto of recent weeks: "one thing at a time". I am ploughing through a very long list of things at quite a rate and will get to all of the things you've highlighted soon enough.
Tim Ingroville medal 5000 8 years 78 days ago
I have 2 accounts both of which subscribe but only one has had reward tokens, just double checking I'm not missing something?
