i would like to say i agree with you but only thing is that racing drivers at a young age don't lose skills for sitting out a race or two, example would be drivers caught up in an accident in a race and had to sit out for a few races, a more extreme case is Michael Schumacher in the 1999 season, he had to sit out over half a season and lost nothing coming back. even more is a driver in training to sharpen those skills up even more shouldn't lose skills while trying to improve them.
a driver should lose skills to atrophy if they are not being used for a long enough amount of time.
That's a good point. Young drivers shouldn't atrophy at all or more than a sliver, and as drivers get older (30+), their stamina should also begin to show decline. This way, players can gamble on an experienced driver in decline that is difficult to improve (near term outlook) or invest on training a younger inexperienced driver to their desired result (long term outlook)
At this point in time, older drivers are heavily out of favor before they get to 30 years old in this game, especially amongst experienced players. This shouldn't have to be the case. Some older drivers should be able to have the potential to still compete with younger drivers.
