I have encountered a Refueling Issue at Spa (50%) in this morning\'s race, a rather annoying one to be fair...

I read about similar fuel problems that only seemed to happen at Spa, maybe just coincidence I don\'y know, but I hope this helps the devs sort it out:

Original Strategy:

50% Race Strategy was a 1-stopper;
Stint 1 - 60L Fuel in at Start
Stint 2 - 53L Fuel in on Lap at the end of Lap 9

(Strategy was changed on the fly, as it was meant to be Lap 11 but tires were dead)

So, as fuel was being consumed at roguhly 5L per lap at Spa in the dry, I reached the pitlane at the end of Lap 9 with 15 L of fuel still left in the tank.

As I refuelled, I calculated I would need 53L of fuel extra to that of the 15L of fuel in the tank, thus making the total fuel in the tank 68L, giving me enough to fuel to the end of the race with some spare.

68L across 13 Laps (x 5L per lap) = 65L (+ 3L just to be safe)

However, this was not the case, as you can see from this screenshot below, the game did not add the 53L to the existing 15L but instead replaced my 15L with just 53L, causing a considerable underfuel and I then retired from the race 2 or 3 laps from the end. I beleive the bug lies within the refuel calculation and could be linked to the 2D viewer, as I was the only person to have used 2D, and strangely the only person to DNF.

The people who finished 1st and 2nd also auto-pitted on lap 21 of 22 even though they should have had enough fuel to compensate.

Image is taken half a lap after Pitstop:

You can see quite clearly from the image, the game has only added 32.1L after the pitstop. Rather frustrating.

It has always fuelled to the level you specify. It has never added the amount you specify.

Really?

What sort of crazy logic is that.

Ugh. I guess I would have known that if there was some sort of guide or rulebook but since everything has to be guessed there was no way of knowing what would happen.

So I would perhaps be able to drain fuel in a pitstop as well according to what you\'re saying?

Stint 1: 100L
Stint 2: 20L on Lap 3, meaning on the pitstop he takes out 70-odd L? That just doesn\'t seem right.

Also, if that really is the case, why in Advanced Strategy is it worded so;

\'\'If an unscheduled pit stop occurs within laps of a scheduled pit stop then add the next stint of fuel\'\'

This to me is understood that if I make an unscheduled pitstop (which I did) the fuel will be added, not replaced.

This is rather confusing.

imo it would be better actually adding the fuel. wouldn\'t have to worry about how much fuel the pits are going to take (after there\'s not enough for a full lap). And it\'s definitely realistic this way

1.although you are wrong, there is a rule book...

https://igpmanager.com/play/?url=rules

y
ou are lucky in that it doenst explicitly explain this...

2. it is rather odd i agree...not a massive issue, as anyone trying to be competitive, under normal circumstances would not do this.

3. you have kind of answered your own question there....read it again.. and take note, that its NOT a tick box, you need to increase to say 1, or 2, so that if for example you are 2 laps from pitting, and it starts to rain, then that clause comes into play....

and yes sorry, i do agree, adding fuel woudl be better, as i have had races mucked up, where i have pitted with say 3.4/l left x 3 stops, and have been short a lap or two....that way, you woudl only \'go over\' on your last stint....

Without excel-sheets or whatever it is easier to just fuel up to a certain amount. You don\'t have to calculate what you might have left. Depending on your strategy this could add up to 10l or more in a 100% race. Remember, in early stages your engineer overestimates the fuel consumption every time by at least .2l. Fuelling up to a certain load makes this easier, as you will be much more closer to the desired load.

Btw., in the race results you can see, that fuel is loaded to a certain amount and not a certain amount loaded.
