I know y'all working on updates and new stuff we don't need but as you know H lard tyres are virtually useless. What if you lowered the fuel weight penalty to actually make hards more viable. The point in going hard is to go longer right? To do that you need fuel and anything above 40kg is not competitive thus making hards not an option. I would love to see some guys running hard and long Vs short and SS. The dynamic and race play will be so much more fun with that extra strategy added to the game.

Try using supersofts in monza with low fuel load in the summer it will definitely work trust me

Anyways back to being serious, hards are actually a good tyre, just need to know when and where to use them. Of course that in a league with refuel you'd want to try a faster tyre with the lower fuel that you will run, but hards arent excluded.

For example in my league when we had refuel we always used hards in malaysia and they always worked

Thanks for your comment, we’re working hard in stuff you don’t need. :P

As mentioned by other managers, H is a very circunstancial tyre but if you know how to manage it and when to fit it is a brilliant tyre. Buffing it in order to make it available to a wider range of strategy could cause it to being OP.

According to some players we’re now in one of the best tyre balances we ever had so maybe it’s time to apply the famous quote that says “don’t fix what isn’t broken”!

This is where Hards excel, particularly at Malaysia, Bahrain and China etc where the pit stops are the longest.

Most common and winning strategy is M H M M for races in our NRF league. They are not useless.

They should be viable in ALL formats, all conditions and not just in no refueling leagues. My point stands, Hards are junk in the conditions I race under. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

Trouble is you can’t make them work in all conditions, but they can be used effectively in some RF tracks

Although I can envision scenarios where they could still be of use at the lower distances I don't race 25% or 50% very often.

I assume when you say that hard tyres must be viable for all conditions, you are talking exclusively about racing formats.

You don't actually expect them to work on a cold winters day in Hungary do you?

Without going into much detail about how I do my strategy, I logged every winner's strategy from my league and I use hards quite often like Giorgio and Craigie said at tracks with long pit lanes

Tbh I didn't really factor in the weather too much in my opinion. My point was/is I would like to see hards used more by staying out longer. But the more fuel and longer you stay out you loose so much time that most of the time it just isn't viable to use. I just want a bit more strategy into the racing. I have tried them in 35c ish heat and it's much faster going two stop SS vs one stop H where as I would expect them to be quite similar. If anyone can give me some advise or tips on how to use hards that would be great. To red craigie yeah I do mean all racing formats, maybe not 25% but 100% i do think they should be used more. But I like said if anyone can share some tips on making that work that would be awesome. Thank you

I think it depends on the league rules for sure, but the tyres are extremely balanced right now.

The tyre isn't the problem. The amount of fuel you'd have to load in order to gain the massive overcut you'd like is...

That being said and like many have pointed out, it's a viable option on a lot of tracks except during extremely cold temps:

Abu Dhabi
Malaysia
China
France
USA
Austria
Bahrain
Italy
Spain

That's a lot of tracks & yes, i included 100% race distance.

There really aren't any tips you can be given except to go back to the basics & understand what 'race craft' truly means & all that it entails.

Hard tyre is often used in no-refuel leagues.
We just wrapped Beligum and most teams ran 3-4 sets in the race. Race winner starts on hards as well.

Hards are extremely useful not only at hot tracks, but like you said NRF leagues and longer races (75% and 100%).
