Hi guys,
My drivers have been disqualified today and I'm not sure if that was right.
I started the race with intermediate tyres, as it was raining during the qualifying lap. I don't know if it was raining when the race started (I connected after it started on lap 2 and there was no rain).
I then made a pit stop on lap 3 and changed to soft tyres, which I used subsequently throughout the race.
Despite it is possible the whole race had no rain, I have actually used 2 compounds, I and S. Have I not followed the rule, or it is supposed to mean using 2 compounds on your pit stops, regardless the initial tyre?
Many thanks

Hello. So the first thing I need to understand is if there was water on the track at the start of the race.

If the water level was 0.0mm at the start of the race, and it did not rain during the race. Then this would have been classified as a Dry race.

For a Dry race, the rule is that you must use two Dry Compounds, so I & S will not work.

however, if there was water on the track when the lights went out, I think the inters would have counted.

So without knowing what happened right at the start, it's hard to know if this was a problem or not.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

In all honestly, I don't know if there was water at the beginning of the race as I connected after it started, but I'll have to assume it was dry, therefore the disqualification.

Thanks for clarifying they must be 2 dry compounds, I did not know that. I thought any 2 was fine. Hopefully, this will help other people who thought the same.

Happy Christmas!

Yesterday we started the race with 0.7mm but without rain, a teammate only used intermediates throughout the race and was disqualified by the game, so the race was not declared in rain even though there was water on the track, on the other hand other teammates who started with intermediate and then used the same dry tire (inter/ m/m) they were not disqualified for not using double dry compound, how can that be? Race in rain or dry? Before, the intermission did not count as a double compound. I don't know if that rule changed?

So in the situation above, it’s a little bit complex. As no rain fell during the race, the system sees this as a dry race. However as you say you had a drying track.

There was an amendment announced about 6 months ago (as a guess) I’ll try find the link but in this situation where it is a dry race but there is water on the track during the race (so after the lights go out). Inters / wets count towards the two tyre rule.

Before this adjustment, in your example both the players who ran all inters and the players who ran I/m/m would have been disqualified.

But there were people who only put i m m and were not disqualified, could you please fix that?

As I explained above

If there was no water on the track they would be disqualified.

If there was water on the track but no rain. They will not be disqualified and that is not a bug. So nothing to fix.

In the future I hope that the situation will be improved so that the two tyre rule is completely deactivated if water is on the track during the race. But currently that is not the case and not likely to change soon.
