I first want to say this suggestion is for (non-refuel leagues). I totally understand not using this for refuel races. But I meaning non-refuel races where you set your fuel or at least you hope it saved what you set. I have noticed it got rejected in the past. BUT is there anyway to reconsider this suggestion. I have seen all the what if this and that.

However, I have had at least 3 races combined in either one of my accounts this past week in which my fuel was not saved. I do not know what the issue is. It most likely related to connection issues with the server but it could be anything. I setup every race and always change my fuel number at least 20 liters lighter or more than the “preset” fuel number. The problem lies is if you have connection issues like I have had. Then your race is over before it starts. Now I understand if this was real F1 blah blah but this is not real F1 this is a game that depends on many different factors.

What I am suggesting is the option to be able to show up before the race and see that “wait that’s not my fuel number I wanted” especially if it is the preset number. It would only be for the grid just like you would change tires if it turned into a rain race after qualifying on dry tires. You will have that little time to fix the fuel issue that may or may not of been of your doing. When you don’t have this option, you pretty much lost any chances of placing for points in that particular race and hurts your team drastically especially in a championship race with a rival.

Regarding your issues save fuel loads, first thing to suggest is clearing your cache. Or hard refreshing your browser (CTRL+F5) Sometimes cache issues can cause problems with the fuel saving.

It is also worth checking you fuel is still saved if you run extra practice laps after saving your fuel. That is an old bug which has been fixed for a long time, but I always tend to double check anyway.

As for the proposal. I think I would be against it, mainly because it opens up a strategic option which I am not sure should be available, and that is the ability to set fuel loads after qualifying. Especially in longer Distance races Fuel loads can make a massive difference and knowing you have pole position and being able to knock a litre of your fuel load on the grid. Or if you qualify badly, you might plan to cut a pit stop out over the race and run harder tyres, which would require a higher push level and more fuel.

Currently adapting an NRF strategy can have challenges and many factors and it would almost be sad to have the game simplified that way.

Copy all that. That still doesn’t help since I play and save all my strategies on my phone so thanks but that doesn’t help.  I didn’t think I would get any traction with this because someone wants to think it is for an advantage and not to fix an issue of fuel not being saved and ruining someone’s race. I appreciate it though.

You should be able to clear the cache on the app in your phone under settings within the iGP app. It might help.

I'm not suggesting you want it for an advantage, what I am saying is that if you introduce a feature like that, people will absolutely use it for maximum benefit, so things like that also need to be considered.

If people think it would be a good thing to have a feature like that rather than the bad thing I think it would be. I'm fine with being contradicted, it just means we can discuss things more :-)

My main thought is that your issue is fuel not saving properly. Your assumption is that its due to bad connection. I don't know how bad the connection is, but there are other potential causes. If you can capture when this is happening to you it might help.

As an example I have a friend who had fuel saving issues. What we eventually realised was that it failed to save if he accessed iGP through google chrome on his phone / tablet. If he used another browser or the app everything was fine. Clearing the cache of his google chrome browser cleared the issue.
