Pit tab in game not showing number of laps for fuel amount

When using the pit tab for a driver while racing, the number of laps does not adjust itself when setting a fuel amount. Well, it does up to a certain amount (not seeing any pattern there), and then it just stays at that number of laps, no matter how high I set the fuel. This is really annoying when trying to make sure I have enough fuel for a stint and when changing strategy.
