Hi this is a message to the Devs, before I say anything I am absolutely not accusing anyone of cheating but I would like an explanation of how it's possible.
So in ELITE France the previous race P1 at one point had a 40s gap to P2. The race ended 30s to P2 by the end of the race. P1&P2 had similar strategies, similar drivers and I have absolutely no idea how P1 was so fast. It just doesn't seem possible. Can everyone else other than one player be doing something wrong? Ignore P1 and there was a nice battle behind. It's not like we have inexperienced managers we were a bit baffled how the gap got so big.

It’s a multitude of factors, car design, research, push level use, driver attributes, driver special abilities, pit crew level, engine tuning, race strategy, drs level, boost level, all of that or even some of those added up, distance could be 30 seconds or more.

I can imagine it’s tough to be that far behind, but those races ultimately are the ones you learn most from. Ask the frontrunner how he was that fast, take his feedback and adapt. Should at least bring you closer next race

P1 and P2 didn't have similar strategies.

The only difference was the starting tyre then everyone was on M. P1s last pit for SS was just a bonus because of the gap. So yeah almost identical. We are only 7 races in the new season so everything is close. Drivers are identical, push on bends pull on straights, maxed engine, design in acc then braking etc.. max pit crew I just don't get it. And there is nothing more I can do. So yeah it's tough being behind so far when I'm doing everything.. makes no sense what so ever.

France:
The winner qualified on SS (pole position) and only ran for 5 laps in a refuelling allowed league. So, not only was he on faster tyres than you he was also fuelled for three laps less so was considerably lighter.
By the time he pitted at the end of lap 5 he was already over 8 seconds ahead of you.
He exited the pit on fresh Mediums and you were lapping on Mediums that were most likely already worn to the point they were beginning to slow.
By lap 12 you were 19 seconds behind. I can't see who boosted when, nor who was fortunate enough to be in a DRS train, this can make a huge difference.

As for strategies
Winner - 5SS / 10M / 10M / / 10M / 9M / 4SS (5 stops)
You (P2) - 8S / 10M / 10M / 11M / 9S (4 stops)
How can you say you ran similar strategies?

As I said in my previous comment disregard the final SS stint as that was a bonus for being so far ahead. So yeah they are similar strategies except the starting tyre. The bulk of the race was on the same compound.
My conclusion was drs, that's the only thing that can create such a huge gap.

Nope. Can’t compare strategies like that, my friend. France is a tyre-eater so the difference between 11 laps on meds and 9 laps on meds….

Did you consider the effect of your worn out meds against a fresh set of softer compounds? For 2 whole laps, you’re gradually slowing down while your opponent is flying on a softer compound, can kill a race easy enough

You really like digging that hole you have got yourself into don’t you ?. The last stint wasn’t a bonus it was the result of a superior strategy,  a better understanding of tyre usage at France, undoubtedly better car development and pl management.  It isn’t really a surprise that with exception of China they have crushed your league.  You should be listening to the posts above as you can learn from them.  The game is far more than pushing into corners and easing off on the straights.

Thanks guys, I was just trying to understand where I was going wrong. I'll readjust my strategy and play around.
