There could be a pdf that we can create a livery on, then upload the pdf to the game and it puts our custom livery on our formula car.

It would create awesome custom liveries. It would make watching the race in 3d much more enjoyable.

Some people might create real liveries. This won’t get the game sued/cancelled because it is the fan base creating the liveries, not the devs.

You are not considering the side effects.... for example the moderation for ...you know. It would be great  but without a big enough moderation, it cant be possible

If big games like Gran Turismo and iRacing can moderate huge playerbases especially on livery editors without any issues, i don't think iGP would have a problem tbh. Current playercount seems to be pretty miniscule when compared to other titles.

Big games have big studios behind them, igp studio is not that big so it would mean a big effort for a small studio to moderate all liveries

Yeah but as i said the playerbase isn't that big to begin with. And maybe like 10% of that same playerbase would actually make the liveries, which would be even more miniscule.

That’s where the league mod comes in.

Either it could be coded in where it says ‘___ made a livery, please approve it and it shows a photo of it on their car.’

Or the moderator of the league just checks and makes sure it’s ok for usage.

I don’t the problem would be so hard. Good point though! I still think it’s a good idea.

Yes and no. Yes, would work but no as for toxic hosts would spoil it for us all. For instance a toxic host approves an offensive livery (contains a curse or something, use your imagination)

It’s not about moderating the content, which would be something to manage. The real challenge would be to optimise an infinite amount of liveries to work on a wide range of devices, from potato phones to top specs computers.

Gran Turismo being a console only game for example limits decal sizes to 20kb, likely due to same reasons. I think something similar could be done in this regard.

I don’t think that a console has the same capacity as a low end phone…

Good point. Cross platform, one of the strengths of igp, means it should also work on low end devices (potato phones as you call it ? never heard that one)

There’s this roblox game called aeronautica.

I know I know it’s a Roblox game, but they have custom liveries that you can apply to aircraft in game. It runs on iPads to computers.

I think it’s super feasible if a roblox game can do it.
