Driver Mistakes

The idea is to create an "in race random event" where drivers can commit mistakes and lose time.
From a programming POV, there could be several alternative "racing lines" in each track, like the boxes in every track, and a chance, depending on the driver ability and wheather he/she is battling other driver and so is under preassure, that the driver goes of the track and so losses some seconds.
For the moment I think the only driver mistake we can see is drivers locking up, but they seem to not lose time at all.
Thanks.

I feel like this is unfortunately not gonna happen. As it is a skill game, this random chance incorporated in can ruin pvp. Games like f1 management can have this because it is a one player game.

Having it affect players who aren’t online could be an issue as well…
Love the idea though.

Yeah, I'm aware this game's community has used to be against any kind of randomizer. From my POV after playing for 1 full year, I wanted to give some suggestions that I think will make me have more fun with the game and also give more depth to some parts of the game.

I hope devs give a chance to some of these ideas at least as a "turn on/off" option. I feel like slower cars should be able to get some chance of having a couple of stunning results per season taking advantage of their opportunities.

This is where the mental stats come into play, the better mental you have, the less mistakes you make on track.

As Andrew implies driver mistakes already happen. If you use a driver with low mental stats and are competing against people with full mental stats you should notice that your lap times in race can be very inconsistent. These are down to driver mistakes.

However, perhaps it could be good for driver mistakes to be flagged in some sort of “race feed”

My worry would be how this would impact races full of lower level drivers, it’s safe to assume lots of mistakes happen, which could mean that the feed quickly becomes unreadable.
