Talent Upgrade...

So I was thinking, how about being able to upgrade the talents of our drivers for a flat token fee? This way we don't end up binning drivers we are attached to and iGP still gets the revenue as if a new driver was purchased.

Yes I know it's just sentimental in it's value, but a big part of the game is. Attachments form over time and it's a bit sad to just 'throw away' a perfectly working driver when it can simply be upgraded.

Now this suggestion is basically for legacy drivers that were binned after the T30 update but if the game can't distinguish such, then a friend (Fried Rice) suggested a level cap can be implemented ('upgraded' talent can't go higher than account level). Should solve the issue of the p2w cries.

So you would buy a talent upgrade for an old talent 20 driver to bring him/her to talent 30, that’s the idea / suggestion?

Well let’s be honest: just like me, you’d still have those 190 to 192 cm talent 20’s in your shortlist so it feels a bit like a way to cheat on newer managers.

I don't understand your argument. Maybe you need to elaborate a little more...

New managers (post talent 20 era) have to search in their yda for talent 30 drivers, preferably 190 to 192cm

You and me have a ‘ready to go’ list in our shortlist of talent 20 drivers of that length (pre level 30 update drivers). So that seems like an unfair advantage for us. Also, if I remember correctly these old drivers were cheaper to get back in the day.

I'll take your points 1 by 1...

1. Yes everyone needs to search their Yda or trade for the perceived good drivers. WE also searched for those drivers you mentioned are shortlisted.

Every Yda/traded driver comes with a price tag, upgraded drivers will have something similar... How is this any different?

2. I'm not sure how the old pricing of the drivers is relevant, it has no effect now.

I just feel, us “older managers” would have an advantage as we have a list of good drivers, they were cheaper to get so there was an abundance of them (relative compared to now). It’s just a feeling of mine. Guess it all depends on the pricetag of such an upgrade

No they were not cheaper to get and there was abundance because that was the ceiling for many years. In terms of the pricing, it will have to be no less than 70 tokens, same as buying a new driver in the YA.

Yes they were. A fresh talent 20 would cost as little as 16 tokens before yda revamp, a talent 30 now costs 70 tokens, so yes they were considerably cheaper

It used to be scout + promote for a driver from yda. Scout was just 1 token, then you had to promote or release at 15 tokens for promote

Price, combined with level 20 beeing ceiling for so long led to an abundance of tall talent 20 drivers, long serving managers would know how to find these, that’s an advantage imo. Fair advantage or not, I’ll leave that up to others. Hope I was able to explain why your suggestion, to me, feels like cheating on newer managers

'Cheating on newer managers' is a stretch and a half. The game is divided into two halves:

Casuals: Won't care.
Try Hards: Already have/Know how to get.

With a legacy capped to one per account and account level. How much cheating is really being done???

Outright pricing, yes it was cheaper but I don't think I could just wake up and get a T20. It's basically similar to now, probably better now because you get tall maxed drivers often in the market these days (over abundance as you said).

How much cheating is really beeing done. I prefer none, you just confirmed it feels like cheating there.

And you’re attached to these legacy drivers and then you can’t get a talent 20 when you wake up? Comon my old friend, that’s a stretch.

And by the way I don’t think recycling an old driver is very realistic but that’s the least of my concerns.

But hey, at the end of the day, old bean, it’s not my thoughts or feelings that make or break igp’s decision. Sorry to pollute this thread with them
