New managers go to Elite

This won’t be the first time this has been mentioned.

Where is the natural justice that managers work their way to the top of Pro, then other players leave so they can’t get promoted to Elite, only for what I call ‘visitor’ managers (rated 30) to drop straight into Elite above them?

Love the game

Moved the thread to a more general discussion arena.

The Following is a personal element rather than as a mod.

If I may flip that on its head as a question to you, if an elite player was not enjoying a league and decided to move to a new one, would you feel it would be fair to both that player and those in a lower tier if the level 30 suddenly turned up in pro or rookie?

It would most likely overpower those in that tier with better drivers and technology and prevent them from gaining access to elite. As it’s likely that there will be new joiners every season, there’s a good chance promotion spots would be blocked off quite a lot. Especially in 2 car leagues where there are only 2 promotion spots.

Thanks for your response.

I understand that argument, however, that's exactly what is happening in Elite, and we are losing players because of it.

A player fights their way to Elite, then after waiting multiple seasons before they get their first point, a better player parachutes in front of them. They get disallusioned.

I think the problem is worse for those in Elite than in Pro.

This is happening in the Active New Players League.
However, we currently don’t have a leading ‘visitor manager’ who is good at the game. But whenever we do, we lose 4-5 players maybe.

Sorry to be blunt but Leagues are open to all. ok some are private and password protected, but the general ethos is a public league is available to anyone if they meet entry requirements and there are spaces.

The specific problem you are describing is really one that illustrates the issues with the game in its current format.  You talk about players fighting their way to Elite and struggling to earn a pt and quitting because someone better joins.  The problem here is the league structure not the player joining.  Players are getting promoted to your Elite tier too quickly (an issue amongst a number of leagues, but not all) when they really should still be learning the game in the Rookie and Pro tiers

If the proposed changes to the League structure work as intended then this should help eradicate this issue as newer players will tier up quicker and join Pro at a much higher level meaning that when they earn promotion they will be better equipped.  My only concern with the changes is that players may tier up quicker and their level be closer to those in Elite, but unless it is a very casual league they still won’t know enough about the game to be fully competitive.

Wow, this baffled me. In leagues where i ran, when there’s someone good joins, I tried to learn, adapt and become faster. And you know, you can always ask that manager, most are very friendly and willing to give advice or pointers.

The thing is, when you expect to beat everyone or expect points, that’ll pinch you in the backside. Expectations are what kills leagues, not fast visiting managers
