Looks splendid so far and if I'd add anything it would be real time global chat box on the community page. Chatting real time is more engaging than having to be on forums.
Taking it a step further while on the topic of bringing the community closer, having something to do together like an event would be ideal. Does not have to be elaborate, even just time trials would probably be a massive hit.

Most games have some kind of live chat function with auto filtering to ensure chat doesn’t breach guidelines and a report function so that mods can see if something needs actioning. I’m surprised this has been rejected so quickly as it needs less monitoring than the forum since the filtering can be automated. Maybe it’s too expensive for a small studio to implement
