I had the same thing, someone pointed out that in the 2D viewer settings there is a toggle to enable or disable the timing screen. Mine had defaulted to "Off".
I've been playing the game for 10 years and didn't even realise the option existed. Doh!
Thanks race is over so can’t check. The list of bugs I’ve found is longer than my arm 😂. You can’t repair cars or do practice laps, you can’t leave a league on iPad because the 3 dots don’t show on the screen, when you try to edit a league wall post it either crashes app or shows light cream text on a white background making it impossible to read let alone edit and the Contact Us button also crashes the app. I ‘m sure there are other issues, but I haven’t been able to get far enough in game to find them yet. I had high hopes for upgrade, but so far it looks like a game killer, maybe tomorrow I’ll feel different.
Edit: there are fundamentally different issues with the iPad and iPhone versions of the version of new game. For example, you can’t repair cars on iPad version or do practice laps but you can on iPhone. You can’t leave a League wall iPad version, but can on iPhone. The league wall bug with the unreadable screen bug described above only seems to occur on iPhone, but the iPad version an attempt to edit crashes the app
