Can anyone who has played more than a season tell me what the deal is with sponsors? Is it possible to just let a contract run out and then approach the same sponsors again and try to negotiate better terms? Or is there a stand-down period between when you contract with a sponsor expires and when you can appproach them again?
I would guess – I am in my first season as well – that depending on your results in your first season it could make sense to let the deals end and negociate from new to get better conditions. Not overriding the screws could also be a good hint :-)...
I think there is a one race delay if you allow the sponsorship to expire. The way this works is like you have fire them?
I don't think you can negotiate as good a deal with them as you would if you kept the contract running.
But I might be wrong as I haven't renegotiated with anyone I let go.
There isn't a one race delay when the contract expires. You will actually get a boost in relationship by a point since the contract expired without you firing them.
