A sudden influx into Pro has triggered promotion/relegation, but there are new managers in Elite that have recently joined but have no points and could be relegated, which seems unfair. There are other managers in Elite with no points and are racking up the days regarding no activity. Can I, as host, relegate them?

No, as host you don't have the power to relegate or promote.

Currently you have two managers who would relegate to Pro at the end of the season. Last race you had three Elite cars suffer suspension failure because the managers haven't repaired them for three days or more.

Assuming these three managers haven't already offered their apologies and explained their absence, I suggest you kick them which will not only cause you less problems with yellow flags but will also prevent the lower placed active managers from being relegated.

Thanks, that's helpful. However, if a manager tells me they are going away for a couple of weeks and won't have internet access then their car will probably suffer suspension failure. Is it possible to put a manager on 'hold' or suspended for the time they are away without affecting their status?

Sorry, not really. If they know they are going to be away for a week or more they should leave the league and re-join during the break at the end of the season. That's what I do when I go on holiday.

You can turn promotion/relegation off in host settings and then turn it back on the following season.

The problem with this solution is that it not only prevents the bottom teams in Elite from being relegated (which is what the OP wanted) but also stops the top teams in the Pro tier from promoting. A bit unfair on them if they've worked hard all season to be in a position to get themselves into the Elite tier.
