Just wanted to ask if it's a deliberate choice that the qualifying lap is done on the same tires that have been chosen for the first stint of the race? Wouldn't it make more sense to do qualify on the SS tires (or whatever tires are chosen on the "setup" page) and some minimum amount of fuel?
In F1, the top 10 qualifiers must start the race on the same tyres they set their fastest Q3 qualifying time on (unless weather conditions change). In game, if everybody qualified automatically on the same tyres it would give the faster cars an advantage. If you are a slower car you are able to use a different tyre strategy to try and outperform faster teams. If everybody qualified on the same tyres, the tyre strategies would be exactly the same and only the fastest cars would win every time.
