Buying/Selling Drivers

Hello

Just wondering what the deal was with buying and selling drivers now?

I've seen some discussion on the "buy now" option and I don't want to turn this into a debate on what should or shouldn't be allowed I just want to know what the "rules" are now, and what I should and shouldn't be able to do

So far this is what I've experienced

I had a driver I wanted to give to another team and tried to auction them, this driver never became available to buy despite the other team having the link.

I then just sold him so he is now a free agent

The other team now sees the lock so can't sign him

I have tried to buy him back and I have enough tokens and money but can't seem to do this. I click on the button and nothing happens

If we're now living in an environment where we can't easily trade drivers between us (or buy existing drivers back) I'm not going to lose any sleep over it but I'd just like to know what the deal is

During the most recent update the "Buy Now" button was disabled so it is no longer possible to transfer staff or drivers between teams. The reason this was done is because "Buy Now" was exploitable and being abused. Top drivers and staff were being generated in bot/farming accounts then being transferred to active accounts at very low cost (9 tokens). CDs and TDs were also being shared between multi-accounts all belonging to the same player.

There was a long discussion about this a couple of weeks ago. The main downside is the inability to recover your driver / staff member if you accidentally let their contract expire.

Currently the market is small so the chances of a driver or staff member appearing on the market if a player sends them to auction is pretty low. I hope this will be addressed but I have no idea if it is on the Devs to-do-list and even if it is, what priority it will be given.

After you raised it earlier Kev, I do want to look in to transfers at some point. I have ideas for how to revitalise this area of the game a lot, but at the moment it's on the backburner. There are more pressing tasks. Currently, we're working on scalable cloud solutions for the simulaton/network side of the game, which until now still runs on dedicated servers. That's one reason we've been hit with performance bottlenecks and latency issues.

Once we get through this and a few other tasks, we will get to these kind of items.

If I wanted to move a driver to another team in theory they "might" pop up on the auction screen?

If I want to sign back my driver using buy now. I am unable to do so as the feature is disabled? (I get the button but it just gets greyed out and does nothing)

Yes Joanne.
The situation now is exactly as you describe. But, in my experience, the chances of a driver "popping up" in the market is extremely low.
