So, I am aware that this would be something really difficult to implement, but I'm also not suggesting as a quick update, but more a long time project.

Everyone knows how exciting qualifying often is, seeing drivers sometimes pull off unreal performances just to shave off hundreds, if not thousands of seconds to fight for pole.

I think that we should have some of this action for league races, perhaps a 20 minute short qualifying session that would happen an hour, or even 30 minutes before the scheduled race start, and it could also be something where players had no control, with everything being fully automated.

I think that having some sort of live qualifying would not only help with excitement, but also realism.

You might think it’s a good idea, but it isn’t practical.  Too much server resources required.  Many ppl don’t turn up for live races and a lot of those that do won’t have the time to waste on watching an automated qualifying session

1) as skid says, majority of players won’t have time to do this / watch it
2) weather wise would be a challenge (which weather do you run in these scripted quail’s, can’t be too different to race weather)

Think a good compromise would be quali results building up from 8 minutes before race up to 5 minutes before race. This way setup window doesn’t change, just another way of visualisation of results. Built up driver by driver instead of them beeing available all at once.

I can agree, many players Don't Have Time, but If You are in a league where everyone is ok with the Time it will not be that bad,it can be added as an option for the host, but will just watching do anything, like why would i watch the Quali If i can't do anything(this coming from an online player, probably for offline leagues will not be a problem),like will not be better to manage what happens too?Send driver out on track, set fuel for more laps,or just for one lap, will be interesting to manage the Quali too

Essentially you have a qualifying session running already that nobody can see and interact with, I believe that is what happens between the 10 minute lock and when the qualifying results appear.

So I assume this proposal is to make the qualifying session visible.

A 20 minute qualifying session seems excessive to me, a single hot lap is probably enough for the context of this game. Having some more options to control how that hotlap runs could be interesting. It used to be the case that the push level selected in advanced strategy could affect your qualifying lap, but this was removed a few years ago now.

I'm wary of more league options becoming available. They can divide the player base into smaller segments which overall can make it difficult to find a league that meets your needs. It's something that needs to be considered very carefully in my opinion.
