Hi,

Can someone please explain how the new auction system works? I've noticed that some drivers go to auction almost immediately whether others never do and you have to retry.

Is there some kind of mechanism which makes certain drivers more likely to be auctioned?

Thanks.

It simply doesn't work; auctioning gives you double the money, so obviously it is the better option when selling a driver - but you can press auction on one driver 10 times and he never goes up for auction, whilst another will go up almost immediately.

And the transfer market is just filled with randomly generated new drivers who have never raced whilst drivers sit in limbo repeatedly, never going to auction. It needs to be fixed so that if you press auction, there is a 100% chance they will go to auction within the three hour window that auctions take place in; especially given there is an in-game incentive to auction.

What is interesting is the auction button for a driver owned by a team has worked like this since an update years ago - nothing has been done about it since. While most of the players have had nothing to say about it there is a clear problem now.

The problem relates the Sell Now option being reduced to a mechanic for teams previously owning drivers being able to buy their driver back. The game designers have had used no foresight in understanding how compromising this change has been to the fundamental mechanics of the game - not only does it not fully stop the exploiting they speak of (just reduces the chances of it - which could have been done in another manner) what it also has managed to do is screw over the fair players.

Yes you may say "well use the sell now instead" but that removes the driver from the game completely, a great shame, but also as the above poster says only gives you about half the money you would have got if he/she was bought on an auction.

I'm currently trying to figure out why some drivers go instantly to auction whilst others never do.

One player has highlighted to me that he believes drivers with a star rating that is below .5 do not go to the auction. (Example 26.4 will not auction but 26.6 will).

Very difficult to gather evidence on the theory but if you have anything that backs this up or disproves it I'd appreciate it if you can drop the information here.

As for the transfer market issues. I agree with the lot of points and have raised them myself, although i'd be interested to hear more about exploits that still exist in case they aren't one's I've already considered and flagged.

This appears correct; trained the driver I had been trying to auction until the star rating was over .5. On several previous attempts, he never went to auction; now he was rated over .5 he sold in about 10 minutes.
