Reputation reset

Chances are that even if your reputation was to be reset, it wouldn't have a big impact on your Sponsor Target, due to the other factors used in the "team strength" calculation.
Looking at your previous results this season, you have achieved a top 6 finish at several races this season, so if you are struggling to achieve your target at some races, it might be a circuit specific issue (setup/strategy/design etc).

According to the quote taken from José's post, drivers are one of the factors used to calculate your race target. The game looks at various factors (including your drivers) and decided that P6 is a suitable target. 

My suggestion would be to look at the transfer auctions and/or your Young Driver Headquarter and try to find drivers with higher talent as this is the most important attribute and contributes greatly to their overall speed.
Obtaining a better driver may cause your sponsor objective to improve, but your results should also improve.
