I appreciate iGP is not real life and that politics has no place in a game, but what happens outside can have an impact in game.  Given that many real businesses have made a stand and boycott Russian products, is it time that iGP removes the track from the schedule and/or replaces with another track such as Miami, Jeddah or Zaandvort?

Delete this, it's unprofessional.

You can't claim it to be unprofessional without giving a reason why.
In my view its unprofessional to continue to promote an aggressor. A country, a bully which invaded another without provocation.

Your post is a slur against democracy, a vote for censorship, exactly the sort of behaviour a certain leader would be proud of.

Want to support Ukraine? Sure—just hop on a plane and fight. Or is it easier to sit behind your phone, looking politically correct, while ignoring all the problems in your own country? Oh, right… boycotts will save the day.

Extremely cynical of you. Also, neglects to recognise that in multinational leagues such as ours, this has become a real world issue and not just a political one.

Awful comments in here. Of course it's a valid question if we should distance ourselves from this nations propaganda event (and there are other nations F1 should reconsider) and I too feel more could and should be done by the iGP brand to show that it is not indifferent and neutral on this topic that affects many of it's players and their families. More could be done to show some solidarity and recognition of ethical choices in sports and beyond. The numbers in the poll are just sad, really.

So, should we remove the Grands Prix from countries that clearly have authoritarian or heavily restricted regimes, such as China, Bahrain, Russia, Azerbaijan and Abu Dhabi (UAE)? And what about those with flawed or hybrid democracies, like the United States, Hungary, Turkey and Brazil?

Yes we should consider carefully our allegiance with any countries with a less than honorable human rights record. But one step at at a time. Perhaps prioritise effectively.

HUGE BS
You shoul be concern about your own contry 1st.

Care to elaborate? Any reason why we shouldn't be setting a standard for fairness and equality?

I get the idea of taking it step by step. But selective concern for human rights ends up looking like hypocrisy — either we care or we don’t.
I agree with the principle. I just want to avoid double standards. If we’re going to say human rights matter, then that has to apply across the board.
Of course fairness and equality are important, but the world isn’t fair or equal. That’s exactly why we should apply our standards consistently, not selectively.

I believe most of us do care across the board. But every small step in standing up to those aggressors who reach beyond their own borders sends an important message.

It may feel insignificant, but just think about the acts of love and kindness you show to your own friends and relatives every day. The cumulative effect that has, the power it provides.

I get what you mean about small acts of kindness — ‘all you need is love’, right? (Beatles)
But love also means being consistent, even when it’s inconvenient.
I get it — you seem ready to hand out roses to anyone as long as it fits your narrative.

No its about picking your battles carefully. You dont win a battle with one blow (or one rose) Consistency through chipping away slowly.

If it’s about choosing battles wisely, can I ask whether the Russian ban was chosen with that same careful criteria?

Yes it was, based on the human impact within our league.

Human impact makes sense as a measure. The challenge is ensuring it’s applied across the board, not just to certain nations.
By the way, It seems we have different views on how to approach these issues. I’ll leave it here and let that stand.
Thanks for the nice chat!

Nice chat indeed. I hope that any hasty attempt to draw discussions to a close is a result of tiredness on your part. I too am ready for bed.

As previously stated, umprovoked aggression by one country against another needs to be tackled before we can start to tackle inequality within sovereign states.
Purely a matter of priorities.

Maybe the best way to solve this suggestion post is for the admin to be able to select/reject the calendar tracks.

Wish you all the best in LIFE. You seem to be a nice person. @Tom Speed

I think we can still have the track, but remove the Russian flags and change the name of the track to Something fictional maybe.
Yes,surely something has to be done to show support to ukraine, but i personally do not agree with removal of the track.
But at the same time ,I am thinking that it would Have a bad impact,i personally Saw a lot of Russian players(and they might not even support Putin or the war,but they are forced to not say anything, who knows....),so If after this is done a lot of Russian players will leave...we already Have problema with active players, what If more will leave aswell ...?

You begin with stating that iGP is not real life and then continue on like it is.

We have been through this pitch before.. it is the 'Sochi Autodrom' not Russia. There is no GP held there anymore for Formula One and as it has been pointed out multiple times, this is not Formula One, it is iGP.

Having the Sochi Autodrom, as it's variant in this game and not an actual reflection, does not in anyway support the Autodrom itself, nor does it support Russia. Like Bogdan says there are many Russians playing the game (or just alt teams with that nationality), and if anything if they purchase tokens THEY are paying into iGP, not the other way around. Any advertising goes to iGP, not Russia, not Sochi.

It is, as it was the first time, a ridiculous notion.
