I appreciate iGP is not real life and that politics has no place in a game, but what happens outside can have an impact in game.  Given that many real businesses have made a stand and boycott Russian products, is it time that iGP removes the track from the schedule and/or replaces with another track such as Miami, Jeddah or Zaandvort?

Delete this, it's unprofessional.

You can't claim it to be unprofessional without giving a reason why.
In my view its unprofessional to continue to promote an aggressor. A country, a bully which invaded another without provocation.

Your post is a slur against democracy, a vote for censorship, exactly the sort of behaviour a certain leader would be proud of.

Want to support Ukraine? Sure—just hop on a plane and fight. Or is it easier to sit behind your phone, looking politically correct, while ignoring all the problems in your own country? Oh, right… boycotts will save the day.

Extremely cynical of you. Also, neglects to recognise that in multinational leagues such as ours, this has become a real world issue and not just a political one.

Awful comments in here. Of course it's a valid question if we should distance ourselves from this nations propaganda event (and there are other nations F1 should reconsider) and I too feel more could and should be done by the iGP brand to show that it is not indifferent and neutral on this topic that affects many of it's players and their families. More could be done to show some solidarity and recognition of ethical choices in sports and beyond. The numbers in the poll are just sad, really.

So, should we remove the Grands Prix from countries that clearly have authoritarian or heavily restricted regimes, such as China, Bahrain, Russia, Azerbaijan and Abu Dhabi (UAE)? And what about those with flawed or hybrid democracies, like the United States, Hungary, Turkey and Brazil?

Yes we should consider carefully our allegiance with any countries with a less than honorable human rights record. But one step at at a time. Perhaps prioritise effectively.

HUGE BS
You shoul be concern about your own contry 1st.

Care to elaborate? Any reason why we shouldn't be setting a standard for fairness and equality?

I believe most of us do care across the board. But every small step in standing up to those aggressors who reach beyond their own borders sends an important message.

It may feel insignificant, but just think about the acts of love and kindness you show to your own friends and relatives every day. The cumulative effect that has, the power it provides.

I get what you mean about small acts of kindness — ‘all you need is love’, right? (Beatles)
But love also means being consistent, even when it’s inconvenient.
I get it — you seem ready to hand out roses to anyone as long as it fits your narrative.

No its about picking your battles carefully. You dont win a battle with one blow (or one rose) Consistency through chipping away slowly.

Yes it was, based on the human impact within our league.

Human impact makes sense as a measure. The challenge is ensuring it’s applied across the board, not just to certain nations.
By the way, It seems we have different views on how to approach these issues. I’ll leave it here and let that stand.
Thanks for the nice chat!

Nice chat indeed. I hope that any hasty attempt to draw discussions to a close is a result of tiredness on your part. I too am ready for bed.

As previously stated, umprovoked aggression by one country against another needs to be tackled before we can start to tackle inequality within sovereign states.
Purely a matter of priorities.

I think we can still have the track, but remove the Russian flags and change the name of the track to Something fictional maybe.
Yes,surely something has to be done to show support to ukraine, but i personally do not agree with removal of the track.
But at the same time ,I am thinking that it would Have a bad impact,i personally Saw a lot of Russian players(and they might not even support Putin or the war,but they are forced to not say anything, who knows....),so If after this is done a lot of Russian players will leave...we already Have problema with active players, what If more will leave aswell ...?

You begin with stating that iGP is not real life and then continue on like it is.

We have been through this pitch before.. it is the 'Sochi Autodrom' not Russia. There is no GP held there anymore for Formula One and as it has been pointed out multiple times, this is not Formula One, it is iGP.

Having the Sochi Autodrom, as it's variant in this game and not an actual reflection, does not in anyway support the Autodrom itself, nor does it support Russia. Like Bogdan says there are many Russians playing the game (or just alt teams with that nationality), and if anything if they purchase tokens THEY are paying into iGP, not the other way around. Any advertising goes to iGP, not Russia, not Sochi.

It is, as it was the first time, a ridiculous notion.

Taking the Grand Prix away from Russia won't change anything. Let's leave the politicking to the politicians; they understand how it works.

Its a game. It has nothing to do with politics, so dont bring it into discussion.
Based on your logic, then delete USA also.

Have you seen any new track in IGP since "a while"? 😂

This was discussed in several threads, maybe you should read these threads before you propose new thrilling tracks...

It's always hilarious to see clowns making dumb threads to try to have the morale high ground for "good boi" internet points

a) The last thing this game needs is to have more content removed from the game
b) If you hate Russia so much, either try to convince your host to not race in that circuit, or if you are the host, just dont put that race in your league's calendar. Simple as that. Don't force your bs into everyone's throat.
c) Putin does not give a flying fvck about a literal nobody boycotting him in a random game, or a random game boycotting him for that matter. You'd just be handicapping the game for no purpose.
d) The original post is super hilarious, bro wants to remove Russia because it's "le bad country" and suggests adding motherfcking Jeddah, because everyone knows that Saudi Arabia is the pinnacle of democracy, women's rights and human rights as well! This is your brain on these morale highground NPCs.
e) If we have to start removing countries that do or have done bad things, we wouldnt be able to play at all, because unfortunately injustice is something that happens in every single country. It's also hilarious how the 2 dudes campaigning to get Russia removed have the Union Jack next to their name. The UK, the biggest coloniser country in the world that has caused havoc wherever they have set their foot in lmao. Just ask Indians, Pakistanis, Native Americans, people from PALESTINE, Africa or any other ex-UK colony what was up whenever anglos were in their countries. Have some self awareness, just because you are in a western country that doesnt mean you can tell others what to do or feel, because you are absolutely not in a position to do that. :)

TLDR: leave people alone and fvck off back to Reddit, Twitter or Bluesky with your fake political morale outrage, this is a suggestions forum for a racing management game. People are here to manage their racing team, not to make silly statements for fake internet points.

PS: this might sound aggressive but it's honestly tiresome to see people post stupid things instead of having useful ideas for the future, many such cases!

Damn right it sounds aggressive and needlessly so.

A - Yes, because having more race tracks than we need is more important than the feelings of the population of a country that has been invaded by an aggressor.

B - What's the issue with having reasonable debate? No one is forcing you to read the thread. Your tone and language makes you come across as a deeply unpleasant individual. This might be a misconception on my part, but I can only assess based on your words.

C - I'm sure he doesn't. Does than mean we should just turn a blind eye?

D - There is a huge difference between crapping in your own garden and someone elses.

E - We're talking about what is happening right now. Yes im ashamed of some of my countries past exploits, but we can't change the past. However, we can challenge the here and now.

The fact that you resort to insults to get your point across says it all.

A - Yes, because having more race tracks than we need is more important than the feelings of the population of a country that has been invaded by an aggressor.

Yes? This is not an NGO :( Facts don't care about your feelings!!! >_< (not to mention that it does not make a difference for the Ukrainian population that some brazillians press the boost button in a bunch of pixels that say "Russia" at 2 am UTC)

Tom
B - What's the issue with having reasonable debate? No one is forcing you to read the thread. Your tone and language makes you come across as a deeply unpleasant individual. This might be a misconception on my part, but I can only assess based on your words.

This is not the place to have a political debate, you can go to any of the social media i mentioned previously to have it!!!! But if you decide to post stuff unrelated to a racing game, then people will call you out on it!!!!! :P

Tom

C - I'm sure he doesn't. Does than mean we should just turn a blind eye?

Yes? What kinda question is that? XD

Tom
D - There is a huge difference between crapping in your own garden and someone elses.

"Violating human rights is ok as long as the TV doesn't tell me about it" :D  Epic reasoning, "Tom Speed", i bet saudi women are very pleased to hear that ^^ (spoiler: no, they are not).

Tom

E - We're talking about what is happening right now. Yes im ashamed of some of my countries past exploits, but we can't change the past. However, we can challenge the here and now.

Sweetie, the countries i listed still face the consequences of them being your Empire's slaves. Do you think those areas just became poor and full of conflicts outta nowhere or what? Literally drawing random lines in a map without considering tribal issues or ethnicities. Do you think the Palestinian conflict started in 2023? Why do you think it started (who owned that territory before Israel was founded)? How about bombing arab countries when they have a government westerners don't like? Or arming random african militias?? All the wealth stolen from Africa and the Indian subcontinent, do you think that has no consequences today? Why are native americans such a low % of the population, perhaps because you genocided almost all of them?
You might feel "sorry" about it and say that it's part of the past, but the people who live in those areas are still suffering in current year, even if the TV doesn't tell you about it! And that doesn't make your country any less evil, perhaps we should campaign to get rid of colonisers from the game ^^
Also about "what is happening right now", where were you when Armenians got cleansed from Nagorno-Karabakh a couple years ago? I didn't see your post wanting to remove Azerbaijan from the game????? Or what, the TV didn't tell you about it? XD I think we should just can the game, every country that has a track in the game is either financing wars or is committing or has commited genocide at some point :(

Tom
The fact that you resort to insults to get your point across says it all.

As I said, I'm actually very nice!!!! Just not with people who love having the morale highground from their position of privilege as a white westerner who never suffered any issues, while being absolute ignorants of the world that revolves around them. This is just cringe performative empathy. You ain't getting good boy points, good sir :(

With that said, now you can keep calling me rude or whatever! Hope you enjoy the game, I will surely enjoy the next time I race in Sochi Autodrom :D (i actually won't, the track is kinda mediocre to race at lol. But that's the good thing about having content, there's tracks I can dislike playing in a track while others can have fun playing it!).
