I think it would be good if tyre temperature had more impact on tyre wear, meaning that if I wanted to extend a stint I would need to keep their temp in the 'sweet' zone, or I might want to push them harder and get more speed at the cost of more deg.
Also, I think tyres could drop temperature slower than the rate gained, allowing you to keep a steady but low push which makes longer stints possible, like we sometimes see in real life. Of course, pushing will always be quicker as a whole, at least until the deg becomes too much.
