I am ready to invest into the league and buy some boost to make some changes.
One thing is still unclear for me. When in mid season (9 from 14 races) I change the schedule and select the races in a order, does that count for the running season or for the next season? Same with race days and race distances? Can somebody fill me in?

Everything applies for the next season. Boosts are also first used when the new season is generated.
