Hi everyone,
As part of the updates coming in the next few weeks, we will be restoring league rules and schedule controls to the default tier on league boosts.

League boosts will be moving toward feature enhancements and away from everyday league administration. The introduction of league modes like classic mode, offline mode, realistic setups and more will represent the first wave of this shift, with many more features to come in the months ahead.

Our original aim was to make league feature development sustainable and to group leagues into a unified global system. This aim will be met instead via "ranked" vs "unranked" leagues. Any leagues who choose to operate outside of the default schedule/cycle will become "unranked". For many, this will be an acceptable trade-off, and initially, at launch, all it will mean is your league will not be listed in the automated joining system.

It's important that we get the right balance across the board between sustainability and gameplay. We believe this is the right move for everyone and more will be released on these features in the weeks ahead. We've been working hard on multiple gameplay and GUI updates, including a new race viewer interface.

"tudo o que significará é que a sua liga não será listada no sistema automatizado de adesão."

resumindo: a ideia é forçar ligas globais e acabar com as ligas privadas

Not exactly, it basically means the "select league by time" option wil be restricted.

And what about the race errors reported in recent weeks? There were several times when the race could not even start and we only received simulated results. We have not received any response, cancellation or compensation regarding this.

Once I've read the whole post, I have one question: is this change in boosts direction going to be enough to sustain the game financially?

Overall it seems like a good change. I just have a few points the need some clarification:

  1. What does Ranked/Unranked exactly mean? Does it mean like that the league will count in Hall of Fame standings?

  2. What does it mean that the leagues will not be listed in the automated joining system? Do you mean the system where you just select a time you want to race in and it will add you to an existing league?

  3. Will leagues still be findable through the league search?

  4. Will all sorts of schedule customization be available in the default tier? For instance, on which days of the week to race, time, tyre compunds etc.

  5. Will realistic setupd be only included as a feature in boosted league?

  6. Will leagues still count as rookie leagues under the hood?

In addition to offline/classic mode and realistic set-ups, could there be a rule or option to run without the 50% tyre cliff - as the game used to be - or would this come automatically with classic mode? Additionally, would classic mode have all the same league options with fuelling vs no in race fuelling, fastest lap point and two tyre compound?

I am happy to announce this change will be arriving very soon, and we have decided to keep leagues with custom schedules within the ranked system. There will be no impact on your league to use a custom schedule.

This means leagues are returning to how they always used to be in iGP Manager, and we will never put schedules or basic league rules into league boosts again. They will remain default settings and free indefinitely.

We can certainly review more features in future if there is enough demand, almost anything is possible. Custom tyres is one possibility we were considering allowing leagues to customise, but it's very niche.

Esto quiere decir que podemos mantener las 22 o 24 carreras por temporada sin necesidad de boots en ligas clásicas o antiguas

Good news. Even more eager now to see how you will rank players and leagues 😊

Custom tyre cliffs is probably a bit niche indeed, but maybe less so than expected. Because more demanded should be a 3 out of 5 compounds rule and a tyre compound limit rule, and the latter would work well with an ability to tweak longevity of the tyre, aside of enabling some control of how many pitstops a league desires.

Probably real niche would be an expert tyre mode with a more unforgiving tyre temp system which permanently damages the tyre if maltreated. Would go well with realistic setup for a more hardcore sim experience, though.

To clarify, I wasn't asking for a custom cliff, I was asking for an option return to before mid-August 2022 i.e. to switch the cliff off. The most fun I had with strategy on the game was in the period between league options allowing a ban on refueling and the introduction of the 50% cliff, because there was so much variation and virtually no limit to stint lengths. Now because of the cliff it's like having a cap on the length of a stint per tyre so the racing is more predictable, like CART in 2002. If someone fits soft tyres at a track with 5% wear, you know when their next stop will be because the cliff forces it.
