Hi
There is something fundamental about being a chassis customer that I seem to be missing. Can anyone please help me understand?
My problem is this:

After every race one gets a message similar to this one below.
----------------------------------
Research gains:
Acceleration +5

We've received components for the next race from our chassis supplier and the performance gains are as follows:
Handling +1.5%
Reliability +3.0%
Cooling +1.5%
Fuel economy +1.5%
Acceleration +1.5%
Tyre economy +1.5%

Good batch (100% effectiveness)
Manufacturing process loss: 0%

-------------------------------------

The Research gains are as they were before the update, and can clearly be verified if you keep track of your engine development.

However, the performance gains resulting from parts supplied by the Chassis supplier are given as a percentage (eg Acceleration +1.5%). How does this manifest itself when looking at the engine development, or anywhere else in the game for that matter.

Can anybody please explain to me why these gains are given as a percentage, and especially what they refer to, as they don't seem to have an influence on the aspects listed under engine development. What am I missing? Where should I look for the performance gains?

Please help me. Anybody.

First, chassis is independent of engine and don't influence each other, just both the car DP in their own ways.

For example your car has a base Acceleration of 87 DP, the chassis selection includes an Acc bonus of +1.5%, so 87 * 0.015 = 1.305, always rounded up (I think, but am rather confident) so +2. Race happens to be rainy and Handling/TE was choosen for engine, so 0 here, tyres same and fuel happens to be Seashells with -1.
That example would result in (Base + Chassis + Engine  + Fuel + Tyres) 87 + 2 + 0 - 1 + 0 = 88 Acc.

Hi Frank

Thank you for the prompt response. I now understand how everything fits together.

Just one more question: The Research gains (+5 for Acceleration in my example above) are cumulative over the season; is the same true for the chassis performance gains?

And lastly, can you please conform that the performance gain is rounded up, (or down, or just rounded depending on whether the fraction is bigger or smaller than 0.5), or is the fraction held over and added to the next values gained in the following race?

Thanks once again!

The bonus points are not cumulating over several races.

For rounding there's nothing official, just testing stuff out and so far it always rounded up (like 1% on a 101 DP attribute awarding +2 DP).
