Staff Marketplace

Hi everyone,

First of all, I generally like the update: the new UI looks cool and the ranked system is making me play more sprint races that I am willing to admit.
However, there is a certain aspect of the update which really concerns me: the transfer market doesn't have enough staff, specially for rookies that boot the game and join a league waiting to have some fun (I've seen that the barrier before joining a league have been reduced, as a host myself, that's neat).

This is not a core issue like some bugs of the previous update, there could be some tweaks made to the market in order to make it more immediate for rookies or put more quality staff for people to buy.

Just as in the real-world job market, where the scarcity of talent leads to intense competition and higher costs, the scarcity of excellent pilots and staffs in the game creates a similar dynamic. Team managers are incentivized to spend more tokens and money to secure the best pilots, benefiting the game with increased revenue and player engagement. In other words, while the auction system is designed to be engaging and competitive, it also serves as a mechanism to encourage players to spend more tokens and potentially purchase more tokens. This can ultimately lead to increased revenue and profit for the game.

3.4. Transfers and Auctions

You can participate in an auction either by placing a 'bid' or 'buy now' offer. Each works slightly differently. A 'bid' does not guarantee winning the auction and allows other managers to place rival bids. While it costs less tokens, it costs more cash. A 'buy now' offer by contrast guarantees that you will immediately win the auction and costs more tokens but significantly less cash than a bid. When any manager places a 'bid' they automatically and immediately remove the ability for any manager viewing the auction to make a 'buy now' offer and force the auction to bidding mode.

Buy now got removed from the game full stop approx. 1 year ago. It was removed from the auction house several years ago if I recall correctly. The rules simply have not been updated.

Can anyone explain to me why the auction time has increased so much compared to what it used to be? Before, if you were lucky and spotted a high-quality character in time, you could snatch them up quickly.

But now you don't stand a chance against a "boss" who enters the transfer market with 500 tokens and can afford to take anything from anyone. Is that fair? Even for rookies?

Agreed. It also reduces the number of people who can actually win auctions. If you're busy and only active on iGP at quarter past the hour you have basically no chance of winning one. It basically just means only people active towards the end of the hour or through the whole hour can win it. Don't see why it was changed.
