What did you try to do?
Sold this driver today: https://igpmanager.com/app/d=driver&id=14431227

When I put him to auction, it said his price was 36m. I could’ve sold him instantly, for something like 28m.

What happened instead?
Driver was sold, but I got just over 6.5m

Did the problem happen while using wi-fi, mobile data, or both?
Both

Did the bug happen in the app, on PC, or both?
App

What is the model of your device?
N/A, not a device issue

What is the operating system?
iOS

What is the version number of the operating system?
N/A, not an OS issue

Can the bug be reproduced?
Not sure, as I don’t have any other drivers to sell.

Lower level teams can purchase drivers and staff at significantly lower prices than higher level teams. This means that if a lower level team buys your driver, you only receive the amount they paid. For example, a level 5 manager (myself) might buy a level 39/40 driver for 5 million, while a level 39/40 manager could pay as much as 36 million.

That seems like a fundamental flaw then. Why should higher levels be punished when selling drivers/staff?!

Will not be selling driver at auction anymore.

It’s part of the game’s economic system. As you level up, you will always have some disadvantages anyway.
If you sell a driver through the auction, you might get lucky and a level 39/40 manager buys him, which means you receive the full market value. But it’s also possible that a level 5 manager buys the driver, and then you will only receive around 5 million.
However, if you sell the driver directly instead of using the auction, there will still be a discount, but it’s usually much smaller and more predictable.
The system is designed this way to reduce the total amount of money circulating in the game and keep the economy balanced.

Before the W2W update, driver/staff levels determined prices. Now everyone shares the same driver/staff pool on the same 1-100% scale. Prices were tied to manager level to avoid totally unbalancing the economy.

Nothing has changed except sharing the same drivers/staff meant scaling had to be applied based on manager level. Without this level 40 managers would be buying at level 1 prices or level 1 managers buying level 40 prices.
