Good evening Jack. I hope you're well.

Many people have found the new advanced setup something good in the right direction... just not well explained or user friendly. Let me explain:

- A) The sliders and config variations are ok-ish, still too heavily aligned many of the parameters towards the left limit (I mean hardly moving 2-3 steps most of it, only 2 parameters or so are working as expected).
- B) IMPORTANT: changes in parameters give feedback in thje SETUP IMPACT as a format of "+" or "-" (minus) signed numbers on the table for each lap. But... what does that mean? Nobody has a correlation on how anything affects there. Is it "+" good? Is it bad? Is it always "+" good or bad regardgless of the item, or it varies?

Instead of this system... Imho... (and as a senior dev but with experience in Ux)...:

SOLUTION for B:  I'd recommend you make it so that the "affefction" table for each run and item... shows the affection in time of lap, concretely in seconds, except for tyre and fuel, that would be in "%" percentage and "Lts/lap". E.g.: If everybody sees that uplifting a car gives -0.2s in acceleration, but +0.1s in handling, and -0.3s in downforce... well... that is MUCH clearer now. Liters and tyre would also be automatically clarified.

Just my opinion, but I guess this would have much support.

P.S: If you need support with a prompt for the A.I. system you're working on with this, just give me a heads up, and I'll even provide the "fix" with a couple of steps for you.

I agree with this approach, having the impact reflected by tenths of a second would be more intuitive. If this change is not possible, a guide or explanation on what each negative/positive number means would be deeply appreciated.

I have managed two "perfect" set ups, at least slide-wise, yet my drivers had very different paces (+20 seconds apart), tyres lifespan was 2-3 laps shorter than usual and ended the race with +3 or +4 liters when I put 1 litre less than needed. For example, if during practice it said 2.26 litres in a 55 laps race, I would need at least 124.3L, I loaded 123L and I did do use the different push levels, yet got around 3 litres left after finishing the race.

Bump (More votes?)

I don't think only a couple of players are left in here.

Maybe a comment from Jack regarding this propossal would be nice.

Jack have you read this?

Most people never visit the forum.

The suggested implementation where lap time impact is estimated is not possible, unfortunately.

What it is showing is the impact on the car design, +1 design point on acceleration, -2 on braking etc. just the same as engine manufacturer and other features. Is there anything about the UI/UX that made it particularly confusing here and not as obvious as the same indicator in other screens?
