My car started boosting on its own

We had a race in Australia tonight, and at the end of lap 27, I was waiting behind a car to get DRS, it was a very crucial moment.

My car literally started boosting on its own. It overtook the guy in front and basically kept boosting, all the way down the main straight, and I ended up losing the race. My connection was stable throughout the entire race, so I really don’t understand what could have caused it.

I understand if this incident sounds extremely strange/stupid, and if it hadn’t happened to me, I probably wouldn’t believe it. It looked as if someone had logged into my account and deliberately started pressing the boost at the worst possible moment, twice in a row: first for a shorter duration, then after a little (~1 sec) pause, a second time for a longer period. Obviously, this should be impossible, since I haven’t shared my login details with anyone, so it was quite shocking to see.

I've seen something similar before, where someone started using boost, then due to a network error got disconnected, and the car kept boosting until they rejoined the race. Yesterday’s case was different, because I didn’t press the boost at all, and the game didn’t show any network error either.

I hope this was just caused by the server issues yesterday and that it was a one-off incident. Thanks again!🙂
