Race messed up...

A few races are not starting. I'm investigating why.

Apologies for this inconvenience. I know there is nothing more frustrating than a race not starting.

Some of the races have started now. I realise this is very late for many of the races on the hour so I expect some rerun requests and I will take them seriously.

I think these examples were caused by my efforts to fix the situation, as I moved them from the server that was misbehaving to another, both the servers picked them up and then you ended up with two races running in parallel.

It turned out the server wasn't broken, but for reasons which are unclear at the moment, they were just ignoring the races they should have been running. That's how it ended up running anyway on both servers.

This is really unfortunate timing, because I am about to finish some stability improvements for starts and the current version had behaved well for a week or so before it did this.

I can appreciate how frustrating this must be for all of you. It's just as frustrating for me. I'm just about to roll out some improvements to the simulation and this happens. The situation tonight spiralled from one race to a couple of dozen and impacted more races than it really should have. Some started late, a few got skipped, and some ran twice because they ended up working on two servers simultaneously.

I'm looking into ways to prevent it from spreading in future. A few valuable lessons were learned tonight.
