Many of you will have experienced an outage during the night (GMT time). Firstly, a sincere apology to all leagues disrupted by this, I will postpone the races impacted rather than skip them this time as they should re-run fine. Every manager in a league impacted has been awarded 20 Tokens.
This won't happen again. The cause behind this is deeply technical but it was a one-time issue caused by a migration months ago, not anything that happened today, ironically. I will explain it now for those who want to understand how this happened.
Technical Cause (RESOLVED):
A couple of months ago we migrated DNS providers, moving from DNS Made Easy to CloudFlare. Weeks later, a certificate which normally auto-renews behind the web services at igpmanager.com failed to auto-renew as normal, when an automated check failed to recognise the new provider. Today, that old certificate expired, which is what caused the interruption. For a few hours, the certificate at igpmanager.com was expired, until I manually intervened and renewed it. I have ensured the auto-renewal service will recognise the new DNS provider going forwards, meaning this won't happen again. It will auto-renew in future as it did for years on the old provider.
The timing of the expiry was also unfortunate. It happened during the night and nobody was here to catch it quickly. That's the only reason this persisted for hours. Such a routine / easily resolved incident would have been handled in minutes during normal hours.
