More pit stops for race setup

I find pretty difficult when I can't attend on a race and I no chance for a solid race due to lack of pit stop availability.  
Do you think it would worth the number of pits for pre setup??

You can have as many pit stops as you want.  The only restriction is they will all replicate your last scheduled stop. e.g. if it’s a 60 lap race and you set 10, 10, 10, 10.  The game will do 2 further 10 lap stints

But that doesn't let me to make my own strategy, That's my point. You are forced to use the last tyre choice with the last number of laps is a handcuff.
