Dear managers and developers,
The current race meta in iGP Manager suffers from a lack of strategic variation. In competitive leagues where teams have balanced car performance, races almost always degrade into a predictable "DRS train." Because all managers have full real-time visibility over each other's KERS levels, every offensive move is immediately and symmetrically countered. This inevitably forces everyone to hoard 100% of their KERS until a single, chaotic dump on the final lap.
I would like to propose two distinct solutions to break this synchronization and bring genuine tactical depth, bluffing, and risk management back into races.
Proposal 1: KERS Telemetry Blackout
Concept:
Completely hide the opponent's KERS battery gauge and usage indicators during live races.
Why it works:
Eliminates Guaranteed Responses: When a car ahead begins to pull away, the follower no longer knows whether they are using KERS or running a higher Push Level.
Introduces Intuition & Bluffing: Managers must rely on race reading and pace trends rather than simply reacting to an opponent's status bar.
Breaks the DRS Train Mid-Race: A driver can secretly deploy KERS mid-race to break the DRS threshold. Pursuers won't know if they should burn their own energy immediately or stick to their strategy.
Proposal 2: Push Level-Dependent Regeneration & Restricted Deployment
If hiding telemetry is not preferred, an alternative is to link KERS regeneration directly to Push Levels (PL) and restrict deployment strictly to PL5.
Proposed Mechanics:
PL1: +3% KERS per lap
PL2: +2% KERS per lap
PL3: +1% KERS per lap
PL4: 0% KERS (Neutral)
PL5: 0% KERS regeneration, but the only level where KERS activation is allowed.
Why this creates dynamic tactical choices:
The Cold-Tire Trade-Off: Dropping to PL1 or PL2 gives faster energy recovery (+2% to +3%), but causes tires to fall below their optimal temperature window, sacrificing raw pace. Managers cannot simply "cruise" on PL1 without paying a heavy pace penalty.
Micro-Impulse Attacks: Deploying KERS requires switching to PL5. Drivers don't need to stay on PL5 for an entire lap and overheat tires; instead, they flick to PL5 momentarily on a straight, dump KERS, and immediately drop back to PL3.
Pace vs. Energy Balance: Maintaining PL3 keeps optimal tire temperature and clean pace (+1% KERS), while dropping to PL2 sacrifices grip for an extra boost later. This creates constant micro-decisions throughout the stint.
Both options aim to replace mechanical, mirror-reaction gameplay with active decision-making without turning races into a lottery.
All of this can be further considered, analyzed, and fine-tuned. However, something definitely needs to change in the current setup.
I would love to hear feedback from the community and developers!
