I gather ballast for higher level teams was implemented recently, this only seems to apply to Rookie and Pro tier. Will it be possible, ever, to apply ballast int he Elite tier?

Presumably as something that the league admin could configure.

It is only there for where a team is relegated to a league but have a higher manager rating than the league allows, so no i don't think so.

Why would you want it to be added to elite?

For balance of performance and fair challenge. If, say, most managers in a given league are level 12 and there are some level 11 or 10 and some level 15 or so, we could set a ballast against higher level managers to prevent blatent advantage for the level 15 managers and ensure fair competition based purely on a manager's ability to manage a team and race strategy.

The intention is that this system will be used for friendly races. The league system would remain as it is and allow some differences in performance between teams.

I think I see what Jon is hinting at, something based the way F1 multiplayer is. Option for league host to set Equal or Realistic Team leagues.

Equal Team - Everyone carry ballast so they are equal to the lowest team in the league.
Realistic Team - What we currently have. lvl 12 vrs lvl 20

I am happy enough with "realistic" on the approach of having to develop one's car and work strategies in a certain way, but if we have a league of mostly lvl12 managers and a lvl20 manager turns up the concept isn't really realistic. But, well, in real life there is not XP and "levels!".

So, yes, anyway. My suggestion/argument/hope/wish would be that a league manager can control this as an option. Just as they should be able to control whether Pro and Rookie do not have ballast or "balance of performance".

If we race once a week and one manager is lvl20 and another lvl12 then it could be well after the next ice age by the time they actually catch up.

Not sure what you mean by "friendly races" Jack, I thought all of the races on iGP were friendly! :)
