Turning the rain animation off?

As it says on the topic, I'd like to be able to turn the rain animation off, it is very disturbing.

I'd like to second this.

It's a good idea in principle to make the weather more obvious but for me the current display is unwatchable for more than a minute.

You would think that it should be a fairly simple feature to have a button to switch animation on or off. Similar to a volume mute button. I personally thought the animation was kinda cool but I would agree it might get a bit annoying after a while. For me I'd like to see the admins continuing with the great work of launching and improving the mobile apps before I'd have them worry about the rain animations. Just my 2 bob's.
