Brake Balance...

Balanced how exacly? Low value = less braking???

Help!

Lower is more rearward, higher is more frontal bias.

Sounds good to me.

Why would you want more rear versus front?

In corners when you need to turn while braking/not lock up fronts while turning.

also balances front/rear for different conditions. in real life, under wet/slick conditions you need less front braking because with less traction you will not transfer as much weight onto the front brakes and they will be more lock up prone.   that may seem counter intuitive but believe me that's the way it works.

Interesting stuff.

what Ron said is pretty much it. The more towards the front the better, just as long as it does not lock up

Thanks for this post, I did not know that. In fact I was moving it forward in the wet assuming you would want to avoid rear locking and spinning.

I have inverted (and reduced) the brake balance impact to be more rearward for wet weather setups, after confirming this with a couple of race engineers.

Yep, Ron is a retired racer of sorts. Recall some rally racing stories at least and the datsun I believe.
