Given that the audience is now primarily Mobile - I think there is a big aspect of the game missing (in comparison to other mobile games). Other mobile games have a strong incentive to play multiple times a day. For example, you log in and check out what's going on during breakfast, check again during lunch, again around dinner time, and again before bed.

I love this game! But have found that there is nothing to do. Training my drivers is quick, so after 5 mins a day (not counting races) there is nothing for me to do. Training, 5 practice laps, and strategy take little to no time. Then ... I don't log back in until race time.

What I would suggest is ... That you have 2 or 3 "practice windows", and a qualifying session.

Off the top of my head ... Practice 1 runs from right after the last race and the window is something like 5 hours. You have those 5 hours to do 3 laps. Then Practice 2 runs for 5 hours and you have an additional 3 laps. Practice 3, 5 hours, 3 more laps. Then, 10 mins before the race, a quick 3 min qualifying session where your main task is trying to send the cars out at the right time to avoid traffic.

This small change would increase the practice laps from 5 to 9 - but I think would really increase player retention. The more folks play, the more invested they feel in the game / league. The more invested they are, the more likely they are to buy tokens. Better experience for users, more money for developers. Win-win?

A new player myself, I agree that there is little to do throughout the day and I like your suggestion.

If practice and qualifying you suggested also impact the health of the driver, I think that would also give managers more incentive to hire extra drivers so they can have healthy drivers for races while still training. My thinking is, it will increase the amount of drivers being purchased and used. To me, that's a good thing.

There's already a solution in development to your suggestion. A casual race system has been mentioned before by Jack (lead developer), which will allow players to race as many times as they'd like in one day. This will let players play with their friends, or whoever they'd like to play with as often as they'd like. However, players won't gain experience or reputation from the casual race system, I think.

That's fine and all - I'm just offering a slightly different suggestion. Massive multiplayer games often allow you to play whenever you want to improve your castle/kingdom or team. So if there is "friendly" race you can do whenever you want, that doesn't really help my team (no xp or growth). It just feels like there's not too much to do during a day.

I wonder if this attributes to players becoming inactive. With so little to do it isn't at the top of my mind, so twice now I've almost forgotten about the race because at this point I log in once a day. I wonder if more people just kind of forget about the league / game. Even the active people in my league, if you look at activity it's usually "active 14hrs ago".

In stark contrast would be one of those war games, where you're frequently logging in to train troops, gather resources, etc. Obviously the two games are quite different, but I'm just offering my 2-cents that it seems like there needs to be more you're able to do to progress your team. Multiple practice windows would at least provide a benefit for logging in once every 5 hours or so. Just a thought.

Regarding practice laps

How would feel about logging in and sending the car out on track to do 19-20 laps, then returning later and the driver tells you how much fuel was used and how much life is left in the tyres instead of how high the wear rate per lap is, alongside the setup feedback.

It would make practice and setup last longer, but it might throw up some issues if the weather keeps changing, though that would fill up your breakfast, break, lunch and dinner times each day leaving you one short practice to do before the race at night.

It may be possible to twist the developers arm to make changes, if there are enough people to twist it!!!!

I think one solution would be to simply have half-day 'ticks' rather than daily, but this already throws problems into the mix with 3 day race schedules and daily. Firstly, it means buildings, driver health, and other things that are based on a set time are calculated unfairly for different leagues. Like right now, in a daily league it is easy to level up very quickly for the first 10 levels and would take only a couple months in a daily league, but much longer in other leagues.
Another problem is server load - at what cost would it be if we started introducing features that can actively and repeatedly pressure the server all day?

This is a fantastic idea!

SS 3/5/7 laps
S 7/9/11 laps
M 11/13/15 laps
H 15/17/19 laps

Would allow us to do race trim and qualifying practice runs.
As for server loads that may become an issue but I`m sure they could quickly put them right like they are currently doing
